My family has dined at Black Angus for over 20 years. The freshly baked bread has always been the favorite of my children along with Fred the Fish in the little aquarium they have in the foyer of the restaurant. The atmosphere of the wine cellar dining room very rustic and ideal for an anniversary dinner. We've had the same waiter for the past four years and she has always been very nice and served us well. Plan on going back this July like we always do
Came up from Ft Piece FL just to eat here for our 36 anniversary, but after reading these reviews we went else where.
Where to start? Food took forever, and then waiter comes out and says their ticket machine malfunctioned and the steaks never got ordered, but steaks are quick so food will be out shortly. After 20 mins, had to go hunt down waiter. Tuna that was ordered rare to med rare came in well done. Well duh, if you nuke it to warm it up after waiting on the steaks, you will over cook the tuna! Add to that a new waiter, at least seemed new as we had to wait forever to even get drinks refreshed.
Asked waiter to relay to manager how disappointed we were, and management never even deemed it important to come out and apologize, and the management was one of the owners. Waiter apologized, but that was it. Nothing from them to compensate for the terrible dining experience. A free desert, a discount on a meal, something, would have gone a long way to take care of a customer.
We will never go back, as the last time we were there the service was bad. One time, we'll try again, second time, no way.
I hear the place is run down and nasty these days....Used to be my favorite haunt 13 years ago...
dated, smells like a nursing home. The ceiling tiles were moldy and falling out of the ceiling. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls. The food was below average and overpriced. The waiter said bread/ rolls were extra. The service was slow and they werent busy. First and last visit.
