Had Bill Ball movers back years ago when there was no computers to leave a review. Now moving and saw that I could leave a review. The reviews that I have read brings back the worst experience that my husband and I have ever had from a moving company. After 15 years they have not gotten any better. Same “MO” one guy could not lift and ask if we had any Advil and he had not been at our house for more than 30 seconds. The whole time the only thing this guy lifted was pillows. Bill Ball sat in his truck in front of my home the whole day and never helped, just watched and closed his eyes like he was sleeping. Bill Ball did not offer them any water or let them have a lunch break as he sat in his truck drinking water and eating lunch. We offered them water and ice and went and got them something to eat. Then after about 8 hours of moving, should not have been that long because we did not have a lot of furniture. We had already moved a lot of our stuff to the house. We went to the house were we were moving into and they broke a table top, damage my wall going up the front stairs, and chipped a piece of wood out of my coffee table. Did not notice the furniture damage until later and the guys said they would fix the wall. We called Bill Ball up and tried to talk to him about fixing the wall and furniture items and he used terrible language and then in the next breath started preaching the Bible. He is a very ugly person and I would never recommend him to move a pair of shoes for anyone. “DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY”.

The rest of us reviewers took the bullet so you don't have to!
You would have to be absolutely insane to go with this moving service. Apart from the owner having the reputation of being a complete thief (his own staff says so!!!), he acts like a belligerent child when confronted about his poor business practices.

WARNING: AVOID!!!!!
Massive mistake! I wish we checked reviews first!
We were quoted for a price at the beginning that was much much lower than what we paid at the end. The movers showed up, loaded the truck as slow as possible with the excuse being one of the guys had a hurt back (not hating on him for it). Mr. Ball (sack) then called demanding an extra $115 to unload the truck.
He said that if he did not receive payment, they would take all of the belongings back to the warehouse and keep them until they were paid the surprise amount. We paid them the additional $115 and guess what?
By "unloading the truck", they really meant dumping all of our belongings in the yard!!
We had to carry everything inside, up two flights of stairs, in the freaking rain Before the movers left, one of them commented that he was going to quit today because he's tired of dealing with the backlash over Bill Balls criminal behaviour. "Oh, this happens every time" he said. " After he steals peoples things and keeps it at the warehouse, he tries to charge them rent for keeping their stuff and then threatens to call the cops."
Bill Ball seriously deserves the absolute worst outcome this world can give him. He is one of the prime reasons Kingsport has a reputation for being a population of thieves, drug addicts and riff raff.
Sir, please do this world a favor and delete yourself from it!response / report this review -

Never Never Again!!! Sent 3 guys only 2 could lift. They worked slow I only wanted their services for three hours to move three rooms that were all packed up and ready. Took 3 hours to empty. When we got to the new place they stopped working until I could pay another hour. They wanted money for another 3 hours I said no and after threatening to take my things back to their storage I had them leave my things in the parking lot. So I had to move everything up to my new place myself in the rain. The owner or who ever I spoke with on the phone was a complete jerk. I guess he figures if he can't make over a grand per job it's not worth it

Horrible unprofessional service. The coordinator who scheduled the move was rude and unapologetic when they were supposed to be there at 8:30 and I finally called at 10. They were still unable to tell me a time they could move us and ended up hanging up on me. When they finally arrived at 6pm the movers were very very rude when I questioned them about what had happened and then proceeded to tell me that he didn't care at all and he would just get in the truck and leave. If we had had ANY other choice we would have told them to leave. Please don't waste your time.

We hired them when we moved recently. They sent out 3 guys that were there right when they said they'd be. They were very nice guys. They had everything loaded in 45 mins. Nothing was broken. Best money I've ever spent. Would hire again.

Broke my moms stuff! Worked slow as snails Bum cigs from myself and my mother! The Boss told my mom the price would be between 4-600$ which is fine My mom paid 480$ and then the very next day they come back to my mom saying there calling the cops if she don't come up with another 700$ Long story short! There worker lied to them ! The cops were called but the problem was solved the bosses son said its not your fault Tammy u did nothing wrong and officer moody heard him say that! Now you people are harassing my mother! Take her to court please cause we will win the counter sue! Stop harassing my mother! Or I will call the cops and talk to officer moody!

Hired a truck with 3 men to move us. paid for breakfast, lunch and supper breaks. they worked like they were 30 yrs old taking their time and going out of their way to make the time longer. 2 would carry something 1 should have. I, being a woman, took several things from them to take it the rest of the way myself because 2 of them were carrying it. I said something but they just snickered at me. I called Mr. Ball and instead of talking to me he talked OVER me and when I ask him to stop he laughed and started "preaching" at me. I couldn't even get a conversation going to tell him. What is so funny, his men approached us and ended up coming back afterwards for a lot less, cheap as a matter of fact, and worked harder than I had seen anyone work. I took it the performance before was dictated by Mr. Ball. I was very pleased with the workers while they were helping us without Ball. Mr. Ball was very disrespectful and really bothered me with all he was saying while he was 'preaching' to me. I am a Christian and if I was having doubts (which I am not!), I believe he would have made me think again. We will never hire him again. This was several years ago but looking at movers again for someone else, it made me think of all Mr. Ball did. Please DO NOT hire him.
