Food not that good. Frozen and reheated simple kind of food. Store has decent options for souvenirs.
Great food, snacks and stuff. We love it, try to get there as often as possible. Close to good hiking and wonderful views.
Decent little place to eat on the drive, they're open when the lodge isn't which is great. The gas prices are really good too given its on the drive. The service in the restaurant is always friendly and the store has your average selection. Great location by Big Meadows too. If you go anywhere on the drive the blackberry ice cream pie is a must...it's their signature dish for a reason! See the photo
They have everything you need at a park store and gift shop, however, there isnt to many items moving off those shelves with that pricing plan. Diner food is okay. Convenient if ur camping nearby.
Lovely one night get away at the Big Meadows lodge with my fiancee, cute cabin, comfortable king bed. Right back on Skyline Drive at 11am checkout to enjoy the breathtaking views. Stopped by Big Meadows Wayside and for an early lunch, delicious cheeseburgers.
The food portions have gotten smaller and price higher. People who are just traveling through don't notice but us folks who come year after year do notice and when we complain it's just a bunch of excuses and lies. I spoke to a regional manager who acted like he didn't know what I was talking about.
We are finding another place to go next year.
Food in the small dinning area is delicious - best on the mountain, as far as I am concerned!!! Love the bbq and coleslaw and the best dessert is of course, the Blackberry Ice Cream Pie - be ready for a huge slice!!!! Glad they will be opening in two days!!
Warm decent food at a decent price
Gas, food, picnic area, a small diner, a perfect place to take a break. The visitor center also has wifi, which is great since there is not much cell service along skyline.
Great stop for snacks/lunch along the drive and/or after a good hike around the big meadows area.
Great stop for camping, gas, and small convenience store items. Bathrooms were a little messy but generally what you expect from a camp road stop. There is a small grill onsite and a gift shop for perusing.
This is one of the larger more complete Wayside. This is close to the Big Meadows Lodge, so there are a lot more amenities here than some others on Skyline. There is a museum inside the visitor center, which gives one an idea of what it took to build and maintain these mountain roads. Food is so-so, try the local favorite berry shake.
