This restaurant could be so much better if the staff were not complete buttheads. I did wear a ballcap, and because of that I was treated like trash by every single waiter and waitress. This is a place to feel high and mighty, not a place to enjoy your life. I will always pass Bien Shur.

My boyfriend and I usually love Sandia, but we had an awful experience on my birtnday 12/01/17 at Bien Shur. The waiter treated us awful, took over 15 minutes to get just water, looked down on us like we weren't suppose to be there. We ended up leaving the restaurant. After that went to talk to customer service , talked to a manger said I will be getting another call from someone else, never did. Called the next week to see what was going on, talked to the director of food and beverage, who was sweet and said I will be getting a call from the restaurant manager. NEVER Did! Found his number and called him myself, left a message and still noting! This is unacceptable. I am not looking for anything in return, but someone one to get this resolved. After this experience I don't want to ever step in this place again if this is how they treat their customers and give them a run around!

    Oh man where to begin

    1) took at least 15 minutes to even be approached by a waitress/waiter after being seated
    2) took another 15 mins for the 2 bottles of very expensive wine to come out
    3) the wine that came was not the same year as described in the menu/ purchased (!)
    4) was told there were 4 short ribs left (specialty item that night for a premium) after 4 of us ordered the short rib they came back later informing us there were only 3 left
    5) short rib was terrible- dry and flavorless
    4) another steak was well done when ordered medium rare
    3) cooking instructions ignored on other dishes
    5) took 30 mins for new steak to come out
    6) took FOREVER for bill to come

I never write poor reviews online and I am not entitled- I genuinely want to help others avoid throwing away their money for such poor service. More is needed at this price point.

staff was clueless. I don't even think this list is complete. Avoid going here at all costs. not worth the money even if it was half price. dined in on 10-7-17

The food and cocktails were delicious. Every single aspect of service was terrible. We showed up 20min early for our reservation and were seated 10min after our reservation time. Drinks took 20 minutes at the bar while we waited for our table. The water for our table took 15min. We needed spoons for two servings of soup before dinner, that took another 10. We waited over an hour for our food in a restaurant that was not over crowded. When the food arrived I expected piping hot and it was warm at best. My party of 7 was very dissatisfied with the lengthy wait on every aspect of service. There needs to be some sort of management/logistics change; this was unacceptable.

I think it is unfortunate that this restaurant has mistakenly received reviews for other restaurants on the property, specifically the buffet on the casino floor. This restaurant is at the top of the building and offers pretty amazing views of the Sandia range as well as views of Albuquerque and Rio Rancho areas.

My wife and I dined here for our anniversary this evening and thoroughly enjoyed everything. We requested to move tables to get a better view of the scenery and they were happy to oblige.

The food was worth every penny. The carpaccio and filet mignon are two dishes I would highly recommend.

I made the reservation a few days in advance via opentable and was promptly seated when we arrived.

This restaurant was suggested by a friend and I would also recommend it to anyone looking for fine dining on a special occasion.

The reason I gave this restaurant one star is their hours. They are not open on Sundays and Mondays. I often have out of town guests come and the day that always seems to be the best to take them to the bar at the top is on Sunday.

Also a lot of holidays give Mondays off and again that is when people are in town. Duh!

Who ever decided these days is a total bone head!

They are losing a lot of money by being closed these days and I don't think they care.

If they need to be closed 2 days they should choose Tuesday and Wednesday.

Way too many people come to town for the weekend and that includes Sunday.

Horrible. Shoved in a corner outside of the main restaurant after waiting 30 mins. past our reservation. The "view" was of the parking lot. The beer I ordered arrived after another 30 mins, despite the bar being right there. The service was tardy and slow. The food was sub par "Cisco Systems" that left a very bad taste in my mouth. This is NOT fine dining by a long stretch. Rip off Native American Corporatism. Horrid. Will tell people never to eat there.

Let's start from the beginning. It's Saturday night & my wife and I decide to use a gift card that she received from a coworker. So we pull up to the valet around 8pm and drop the car off in the trust of a complete stranger in a vest. We then walk in to the casino and head to the Than Shur Buffet where we wait in line for about 15-20 minutes behind some very loud obnoxious people. We pay for our meals (around $26 each) & make our way to the front of the line where we are held behind the all mighty retractable black nylon barrier that only the privileged may open. Or that's how it seemed. The lady that opened the flood gate wasn't very friendly and seemed quite miserable.

We made our way to our table and were greeted by our server, Cruz. She was polite & friendly. Cruz took our drink order & my wife & I headed to the buffet food area. The selection was quite poor and the food quality was substandard in my opinion. I tried some dried out Salmon & some soggy bow tie pasta with red sauce & rubbery meatballs. I didn't finish the plate. My wife had crab legs which she said were good.

I went up to the carving station to get some prime rib. Now it's about 8:30pm & the buffet closes at 10pm. I look down at the carving block & see nothing but scraps and a couple of pieces of dried out prime rib. So I wait about 10 minutes before someone shows up to help me. The carving station attendant said something incoherent and disappeared. He came back, opened a hot box, pulled something that looked like a chunk of meat & then then threw it in the trash. He then told me that they were out of prime rib.

I went to find the restaurant manager. The restaurant manager had no idea that they were out of prime rib so he calls the chef. The manager & I go over to talk to the chef. I ask the chef "How can a restaurant that serves prime rib be out of prime rib?" The chef just looked at me with a blank stare and had no answer. I told the chef & the manager that I was done and it was unacceptable that for the price people pay for their buffet that they should have the food expected. Then I walked away.

So after eating a disgustingly disappointing plate of fish & pasta, I gave up and decided to just have a piece of pie. It's pretty hard to mess that up, I think. The apple pie was fine. As I was sitting there eating my pie the manager came to our table & tried to offer us something that were probably comp coupons for free meals in a small folder. I didn't even touch them or look inside of the folder. I looked the manager in the eye and told him that "We will not be returning and we will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone."

We then leave a proper tip for our waitress Cruz, as it wasn't her fault I didn't see the need to skimp on her tip so we left the appropriate tip. I filled out the comment card and turned it in but that will probably go nowhere but the trash.

So in closing, if you want crappy food and attitude from the line cooks, by all means head on over. You're literally gambling with your stomach. You should just take the $$ and put it in a slot machine. You'd have a better chance.

    UPDATE:

We still haven't been received a response after repeated calls & emails. We have not been back to the restaurant bit the casino to spend another cent.

Everything I had was good except the guacamole seemed a little oldI was quite pleased with fresh fresh salad and the Couscous excellent. Our servers were Top Notch. Very sweet, attentive, they truly seemed to care. Nice brief conversation, very professional. I will return.
