The place to go if visiting Franciscan University, until the new hotel opens across the street. A bit old in every way but the location is perfect for conference goers.

Friendly staff! Rooms are pretty big too. Bonus points for having Damon's attached. It's nice to get back from a long day and be a to get a beer and not have to worry about getting an Uber.

I was there for a baby shower the banquet room was nice and clean. Didn't stay overnight so I can't vouch for the rest of the hotel cleanliness. But it seemed pretty nice

If you have children you are coming at here at your own risk! I wanted to visit Franciscan University and knew that this place was partly owned by the university, so I figured that it would be family friendly, place to stay. It is not! I don't know if it is because all the contractors who are doing construction in Steubenville decided to stay in the same place, but it was a mad house. The sports bar Damon’s is connected to the Best Western and thus there is a plethora of single, men who walk around drinking and smoking in the hotel! I am sure Best Western will say that it is only happens near the bar and that Damon's gets a little rowdy only at night. The problem is that all the patrons of Damon's sit outside the entrances all night long smoking and reveling. The management of the Best Western will point to their new no smoking policy as ample evidence what I am saying is not true. They will not inform you that despite having this policy it is not enforced since 90% of their cliental as well as the staff of the hotel smoke regularly on the premises. What is most surprising to me is that this hotel is somehow connected with the university.
