Nice accommodation. But I removed a star because service in their restaurant was ridiculously slow. It was about 45 minutes before I saw my food. There's hardly any other eating places within walking distance, so I stuck it out. I'd stay at the hotel again but never go to the restaurant/bar.

Noisy, noisy, noisy! If someone drops a pin at one end of the building, it sounds like rebar on a tin roof at the other end. You could probably sleep better in the parking lot. We stayed in Best Westerns all down the coast. This was the most expensive and the worst.
Maintenance was poor and slow to correct problems. Good location and nice garden. Otherwise, a bad choice.

Can walk to many restaurants and even to the beach. good location loved full-size refrigerator for a hotel. clean room friendly staff. only gave three stars because a little outdated, with the tile. and very small bathroom . But would definitely stay there again. great bargain price, free parking and fast Internet . Food was delicious at the restaurant. and a good location with big TVs to watch games . I would actually give closer to four stars

Beautiful hotel!! Great location. Friendly staff. Nice room. Always stay at Best Westerns when we travel. This was the first that DIDN’T include a breakfast bar. A little disappointing. Pool was really small. All in all I’d stay here again but I’d look for another BW first that included the breakfast bar especially as this was a little pricey. Again, the location was great and the hotel itself was really nice!

We had a good stay but we were on the first floor and the above floor was very loud. We could hear all the walking and vacuuming from above. Also, the hot tub is WAY TOO SMALL. Only large enough for 3 people AND it wasn't working. There is NO breakfast, coffee or pastry offered at this location. Other than that, I would recommend this hotel.

I am a regular visitor at BW Carpinteria for grad school sessions. Great location walking distance to the beach. This hotel is always clean with very friendly staff who are happy to make any accommodation they can. I have taken advantage of all amenities. Courtyard view rooms are great!

Old. Peeling wallpaper, cracked tiles. Strong bleach smell. Customer service is getting better and the folks at the front desk are always pretty friendly and VERY helpful. I have asked for a special room every time and they always accommodate--so 2 to 3 stars for atmosphere but 5 stars for customer service.

Paid $300 for one night for a room with a 1970's style tiny bathroom and no amenities. And I mean no amenities i.e., things you would get for free at a typical hotel at this price point. No free breakfast. No free lotions/conditioners. (My God even Motel 6 has those!) Coffee is free IF you can get it between 5AM-7AM (are you kidding me?!) Small square pillows. Water smells like sulphur. Hallways smell worse. Air conditioner sounds like an old Volkswagen bug trying to start up. If they spent as much on the rooms as they had on the upgraded courtyard this would be a much nicer hotel. Going out into the lobby at 9:30 in the morning and not having free coffee is what made me write this review. Sounds like a small thing but when you add it up with everything else and you consider the amount I paid for this room there were just a lot of things missing here at this hotel for the price. Lots of traffic noise b/c you are right off the 101. Staff moderately friendly. Spa has a capacity of 3, no joke. Pool maybe 10?!
Maybe it is just this hotel? I stayed at a best Western Inn in Oceanside a month ago and it had free coffee all day long, free shampoos and conditioners, big pool, free breakfast, and much nicer bathrooms. Not sure why this hotel is not much better than a Motel 6 but the reviews show they need to get with the program.
Will not be back unless they lower the price to $100 a night which is about what you should expect to pay for a hotel with this type of accommodations. And FYI no dogs allowed.

Very attractive public areas, very clean. Rooms are small but pleasant and comfortable beds. Only problem was a broken shower curtain rod which was reported (only stayed one night). Would use this hotel again, nice staff and rooms are quiet, beds comfortable.

Loud upstairs tenants literally running across the room at 6 in the morning, slamming closet doors, etc. and poor response time from staff about basic things (called twice for towels, took 20 minutes to get to our room. multiple reports of loudness not followed up on. Was told the guests were part of a weekend event so they're busy getting ready and that they will be done soon. They were running around from about 4:30 in the morning to about 7-7:15).

I'm on my honeymoon with my wife and deserve just as much right to enjoy myself as they do. Beautiful town, but the staff response made me not hesitate to pick a different place to stay on our next visit.

Stayed there for a couple of days last month, visiting local colleges for my son. Nice place! Not exceptional, but not average either. Enjoyed our stay and it is in a good location. They have a pool, hot tub and restaurant. We ate at the restaurant twice, expensive and the food was "OK". We would stay there again!

Charming Spanish style hotel, but has some deferred maintenance. Location is fantastic just south of Santa Barbara and right off the freeway. Beds were comfortable and shower was good. We did have to change rooms but the staff was great about it. The units have in wall Air Conditioning and Heating units which can be noisy. Still, for the price I thought it was a great Hotel. Really enjoyed the architecture and styling, the courtyard is fantastic and a great place to grab a cup of coffee in the morning.

This Hotel has "great bones" to quote a friend. Excellent 101 access to an oasis after the hubbub of Santa Barbara. The inner courtyard access from one's room almost makes you want to retire here permanently. Nathaniel and Kassandra are exemplary personnel. Hotel value is the best in lower California. The Hispanic architecture and charisma are unequalled. This is a destination all by itself with coastal access simply steps away across the train tracks. Hate to leave it...Will return from Napa at the earliest opportunity.
