A terrible school. Councilor Ms.Esquibel is a troubled councilor who often tells students she's too busy and is never available. Students are assigned to a councilor and if they don't like it too bad. She was responsible for placing me into an Algebra 1 class to make up half a credit and she had placed me in the wrong semester. So I did not get the half credit. Instead I got half an elective credit due to her mistake. I have a deficit in math and I feel that I worked hard for nothing. But yet I still have to retake algebra 1 again. If students need any help with their credit situation they have to go to their assigned councilor. It is extremely difficult to get help from a councilor who is never there for anyone. Bullying is very common in Belen High School. I've seen a girl get punched in the face and the girl who did it quickly hurried away. Fights are extremely common. Once or twice a month you will most likely witness a fight break out. Even during an assembly a fight broke out. Students do drugs right underneath the security's noses and smoke up in the bathrooms so the bathrooms have a stench to them. If you have a choice to send your son or daughter to belen high . Please reconsider and send them somewhere else. This school has made the news two or three times . Teachers having sex with minors. I often walked around this school with my fist clenched in my pocket out of fear when someone had drama with me and wanted to fight me. The first day I came to the school a girl threatened to fight with me. Oh ! But Belen Staff and security heavily enforce dress code because dress code is the worst thing going on in this school!?My experience at belen high school was the absolute worst!!
