I got out of this cesspool 24 hours ago, with 3 Insulin prescriptions that " You need to get filled and started on immediately." Waiting now for a call back to see if they will ever straighten out the 2 prescriptions that cannot be filled as written. A filthy hospital with a hardworking, and overworked nursing staff, a very well hidden doctor's staff, and an absolutely non-existent patient care staff. I have pages more, Just don't feel like it right now. I had to give them one star before I could post this. HA!! what a sad joke!

On October 30, 2017, I had my finger get slammed in a car doors. I looked and a large amount of flesh had been severed from left middle finger. The ER staff was very professional and even though I was losing blood on a towel that I had brought from home hoping to somehow stop the bleeding.

The ER staff put me in the fast track which I really appreciated. Dr Phillip Nunnery was at the hospital and entered the ER to examine my finger. His vast experience enabled him to diagnose the finger and told me that by cutting my finger off to the first joint would be the best path to person. He looked at me and said, “If I had this mangled finger, that is what I would want. He was very detailed oriented and stitched my blood vein to stop further bleeding. I don’t know what the numbing injection was but I was happy because I felt nothing. He put in in the hospital overnight and said we would perform the surgery in the morning.

The next morning, Dr Nunnery was able to remove the skin and bone required and the surgery lasted under 30 minutes.

At no time did any admin people appear rude or like they were doing you a favor. They were checking on me to ensure all was ok and it was. No one came up to me and demanded money or anything. Everyone made me feel that I made the right choice for the ER.

Dr Nunnery called in a couple of prescriptions for possible infections and pain. My finger has been feeling better every day and I had my first follow up appointment today and everything was looking wonderful.

My opinion for Bay Medical and Dr Nunnery is very high and very professional.

The only negative item was the first assistant attempted to connect an IV but missed both times. The second attempt was the most pain I felt and made my eyes cross but a more experience nurse took over and everything was great from that time on. Even though I had gone through a lot that day, the ER staff and Dr Nunnery were the best !

My girlfriend and I were involved in a rather serious motor vehicle accident earlier this evening. We bowl sustained moderate injuries but she on the other hand was a little more critical than me.
The vehicle we were driving is a total loss & aside from the cuts, scrapes and contusions sustained by both of us she was exhibiting signs and symptoms of a possible traumatic brain injury.
A standard workup was performed upon our arrival to the hospital. Despite our concerns regarding her altered mental status & odd behavior the staff in the emergency Room blatantly disregarded the possibility of a concussion or maybe even something more serious. We made the nursing staff and doctors aware that she could not maintain her balance, had a persistent headache & could hardly form sentences at-times sounding incoherent.
After little more than one hour in the emergency department she was released.
This was at approximately 4:00 p.m. After returning to our home town her symptoms became worse & her lack of motor skills proved to pose a danger to her personal safety.
Here we sit in the emergency department in another state where our concerns are being addressed with the seriousness the situation deservesWith the proper testing being performed, the diagnoses of a traumatic brain injury confirmed our suspicions
This is very concerning as she was told by hospital staff that she could resume her normal activities and had we trusted the word of the so called medical professionals And not closely monitored her there's no telling what dangers she could have posed to herself and others
This is not my 1st bad experience with this hospital and I would highly recommend an alternative such as gulf coast if given the option.
The entire organization is ignorant & lacks professionalism.
I would have loved to give it 0 stars but unfortunately that was not an option

This has been my worst experience, very unprofessional and poor knowledge from staff. I feel stereotyped and not taken seriously. I had to call in order to get my referrals ( you guys should tell the patient that you can’t do anything for them the day of the visit) and nothing was filed. Triage is awful and you guys should know what patients are there for legitimate reasons and what patients are there for other intentions, not generalize and put everyone in the same category. I feel lost and pushed aside. I just moved here from San Diego California and have never experienced this before. Every single patient should be treated with the same care, respect and try to resolve the issue right there and then instead of sending them home and hope for the best. This is how people fall through the cracks. I also called today to cancel my appointment, spoke with 2 employees and they both said that I called the wrong department, one of them was an operator that transferred me to outpatient surgery. They seem lost and untrained. So now I don’t know where to call to cancel my appointment.

Thank you PCB ER. You guys saved my life last night and everyone was very attentive and nice. The check in lady even met us in the parking lot and we did not call ahead. Everyone even laughed at my jokes while my heart and eyes were about to explode. Top notch. Thank you.

I recently had surgery on my knee. I was not looking forward to having the surgery at all but from pre-op/registrationall the way to discharge post-surgery, everyone I encountered was very professional and courteous. I arrived for pre-op and surgery at the times given-very little wait time and then things began to happen smoothly and efficiently. On day of surgery, everything check-in went smooth and before I knew it, I was ready to be taken back for surgery. Thank you Bay Medical for showing professional compassion and for such a smooth surgery. I have to have a second surgery on the same knee and hope I encounter the same professional individuals again.

I had a colonoscopy done here a few months ago. The wait time was ridiculous. While I was waiting in the pre -op room I could hear the anesthesiologist talking with others but they never came to talk with me until someone came by, looked at my chart and said, she is next but the anesthesiologist hasn't talked with her yet. So I was passed up to go next. When the anesthesiologist finally did come speak with me they hardly went over anything with me. I expressed that I get nausea from anesthesia, so while waiting for them to give me something I was passed over again. I was finally given a med for nausea and no sooner than they gave it to me they were wheeling me back to the surgery area. I had a reaction to the nausea med (because there was no time between when they gave it to me to when they wheeled back to the surgery area) they had to wheel me back out and I ended up being the last patient for the day! I usually go to the Panama City surgery center for all my out patient stuff and boy do I ever regret not going there this time. I will never! and I mean never! schedule another appointment with Bay Medical for any kind of procedure.

Worst experience EVER! I only gave a one star because a ZERO star was not an option!
My family member was in severe pain, could barely move, so I rushed him to the hospital. Upon arrival, he was placed in a room and was told they would FIND a nurse. When we asked where was the nurse AND the doctor, we were informed the nurse may be on lunch, and the doctor is probably sitting at his desk. Due to the severity of pain we asked to bypass the nurse and requested the presence of the doctor immediately. After about 15 minutes the doctor finally came in, seen there was no IV hooked up yet, no labs drawn NOTHING! So the doctor asked a few question - 30 seconds worth - and left the room. A chest x-ray, a CT scan, and a blood draw was completed. After a hour and half, a discharge nurse walks in the room (first person we seen since the patient returned from the CT scan) and started to go over discharge instructions. Mind you we still have not seen a doctor for a diagnosis at this point. I politely interrupted her and demanded for a doctor to come and go over his findings from all the test. Another 25 minutes pass, and he finally comes in to tell us he had a kidney stone and was fine to go home. I requested a copy of all the reports from the tests that were done. After reading the report it clearly stated there were SEVERAL kidney stones.and of course there was no explanation to us for anything. The doctor had no desire to talk to us, it was apparent that he was leaving it up to the discharge nurse to do everything. The staff was very rude, the bed sheets were tapped in several places because of the rips, and extra tubes of the patients blood was place on the keyboard that still sat there when we left! And this is just a few reasons as to why we will never return. I recommend anyone reading the reviews that are trying to decide what hospital you should choose.please reconsider if this is an option. I don't want anyone to experience what my family did today.

I recently made a payment to pay my balance in full using their website. An error occurred and it made a double payment of the same amount required to pay my balance in full which is $135.25. I called the day after to inform them of the double charge. They told me a ticket was created to issue me a refund. Weeks go by and still no refund. I called today to inquire (June 8, 2017) and was informed they put the "double charge amount" to pay for an "open balance." I have no other outstanding balances with them. Everything up to this point is PAID IN FULL. Without my authorization or even informing me of another balance they went ahead and kept the double / over charge amount and allocated it to an account they claim is still open. Thanks to my bank I still have every statement from the day I opened an account with them. Bay Medical Center is operated by thieves who take your money without informing you.

They issued a 30% off any outstanding balances as a "Christmas" or "Holiday" gift to patients/customers. A bill I had was around $500+ and they cut it down to $376.72. I was ecstatic they were being so generous. Then later I received another bill from out of the blue under St Andrews Bay ER Physicians for $217.40 AFTER I paid the other bill. So they made back the amount they "generously" offered to cut. It was a scam. Pure dishonesty from this hospital and their billing department. Only go here if you're seriously injured and near death because for anything else they'll charge you an arm and a leg then charge you again and again claiming you have "open" accounts. The lesson from my review? Keep all your receipts, request they send you electronic and paper receipts of any payment you made. You'll need it for litigation.

We are up here in fast track. There is food under the bed, gloves that were left, candy trash everywhere in the room. Not very clean for sure. Also it took hour in a half to get someone to see my daughter. If I could post the pictures I would.

They fixed my heart there. I worked here in the eighties, it was a great hospital. But I'm convinced that when you contract out your support departments you loose control. I have heard that people are saddened by the actions occurring in the ER.

The care that I received was great but if you have an insurance policy with a high deductible and will be left paying a balance do not go here. last year was a horrible year for me and medical bills. I ended up with three ER bills before even meeting my deductible and then had to have a heart monitor implanted which I had done at Bay Medical. Every ER accepted reasonable payments that were affordable to me and the last bill will be paid off in three months so I am not one to run out on my bills. Bay Medical however has strict guidelines on the payment amounts that they will accept and the ones that they required for this bill are in no way affordable to me. They leave no room for their employees to negotiate a lower payment. The sad part is that I had already met my deductible with the other bills so unlike the other hospitals, Bay Med has already received the bulk of their money. I understand having to be tough on those that just do not pay their bills or those that had time to make other arrangements prior to incurring the charges but to make unrealistic and unattainable demands on those that are willing to pay is pretty sad for a health care organization that includes "compassion" in their mission statement.

The Bay Medical Center Emergency Department serves a big community and environs far and wide. The staff and doctors are very hard working and do their very best at all times to provide optimal care Sometimes the bed capacity is exceeded and the waiting room times are prolonged yet they still keep on trying their best to bring out the best in all situations. I really commend them for the great work they do, day in day out.

My aunt was a patient in the hospital at Bay Medical for 11 days recently. The staff and physicians were absolutely wonderful. The professionalism and care they provided was outstanding. The ED physicians and staff were so caring. The floor staff and physicians in the hospital were knowledgeable and actually explained and answered all of our questions. Thank you for the great care! You are our hospital of choice!
