For the next several months, crews will be working on the foundation for the hospital. First, workers will excavate 138 million pounds of dirt and import 160 million pounds of dirt. After the “dirt work” is complete, construction on the hospital’s foundation will begin. After the foundation is complete, the hospital should take about a year to build. The hospital is expected to open in the fall of 2018. The facility will measure about 65,000 square feet and include an emergency room, inpatient beds, cancer services, imaging and diagnostics, operating rooms and a number of other services.
