Ballet Body is an exercise method based on pilates, yoga, and dance- inspired principles to lengthen and sculpt the body like a dancer's physique. Ballet Body integrates cardio, strength, and flexiblity exercises to completely transform and shape the muscles. Muscles are contracted and stretched at the same time to achieve greater lengthening of the muscle fibers.This method began in 2005, when Leah Sarago, creator of Ballet Body, completed a rigorous program of traditional weight training.Leah Sarago, a dancer all her life, found her body to build bulkier muscles not resembling the elongated physique of dancer. At that point, Leah began to put together her knowledge of exercise science with her background in dance training and began building on exercises centered in body-weight resistance. Ballet Body evolved from dance, pilates, and yoga inspired principles of stretching, lengthening, and muscle shaping. She began to immediately see length again in her muscles after working her body through this fusion of pilates-yoga-dance inspired routines. Leah began training her female clients away from traditional weight training with machines and dumb bells, and started utilizing only a ballet barre and yoga mat. The results were phenomenal with women finding their legs toned without bulk, seats were lifted, postures were corrected, and inches were lost. Ballet Body began with a few key exercises and now has developed into a series of strengthening exercises only utilizing your own body weight.
