Balfour as a company makes beautiful products. However, their business runnings seem to be lacking, as they have very poor communication channels & their customer service teams don't seem to pay much attention. I ordered a college ring with Balfour in May, and the ring was set to have 3 payment installments. The company never sent me any confirmation about the order, and never let me know when those payments would be taken out. They got my bank account frozen because they kept trying to take out $200 without any notification to me whatsoever. Once I figured out - again with no help from the company - around what dates they would be taking the money out, the problem was solved. Fast forward a month, my ring was stolen on a trip. I called in for a replacement, and was expected ro have the order # for the original ring despite the fact that Balfour has never once sent me any email or communication at all regarding the ring for any order placed, and I had to repeat over and over again my apartment address and number, so I was pretty certain that this information would be in there correctly. Fast forward another 7 weeks, and I call in wondering where my ring is at because I have absolutely nothing telling me that it's shipped or in process of being made - again, I had never received any email confirmation, order numbers, or anything. All they gave me was a verbal estimate of 4-6 weeks. I call in, and find out that my ring was shipped, then returned because of a lack of a proper address, because the man I originally spoke to screwed up putting my apartment number in despite the 4 or 5 times I had to speak it out to him clearly and with perfect enunciation. I would have had absolutely no idea what had happened had I not called in, again because they never contacted me once about it - not when I ordered it, not when it shipped, not when they found out it was undeliverable, and not when the received the ring back. This time, I gave him the address twice and he said they would ship it out tomorrow. I asked for an email confirmation because I am absolutely not willing to wait through another order with absolutely no communication. The man said they would send one out once it's shipped, I will be keeping an eye out.
I do not normally get this upset about shipping problems, I understand that things happen. But the problem for me is that Balfour has no communication skills whatsoever. Balfour has some serious work to do to improve their communication methods, because this lack of communication is unacceptable. I may not have even ever received a ring from them if I'd not called, because they hadn't even contacted me about it returning to the facility it came from. Very disappointed, and really urging Balfour to seriously reconsider their current business model.response / report this review -
