One of the few remaining bookstores around anywhere so that alone is a plus. Offer a good selection and the staff is very friendly about helping you order books they don't have in store. They also offer readings and other activities for the community.

Awesome place. Cozy and crammed with books in just about every genre. You are guaranteed to find something whether it's for you or a gift. Friendly salespeople and decent prices too. My favorite bookstore.

Garbage SJW bookstore. No history section which tells you a lot about the worldview of contemporary leftists and college students. They had a few good books (Wendell Barry poems and Hillbilly Elegy), but they were few and far between.

Can NOT say enough good things about this Amazing store. Staff that is friendly and knowledgeable! Great book clubs! Kid friendly atmosphere (complete with reading nook)! A bespoke book subscription service! A second great location elsewhere in Athens!! So much excellence, you may never buy books on-line again (but if you prefer it, they also have a great website+ home delivery)!

This is a really great little local bookstore. They don't have every book in the world, but they have all the great ones. Really good history, current events, and poetry section. And the employee suggestions are gold!

I love Avid! A peaceful, quite local bookstore. They keep their shelves stocked with a wide variety of contemporary works and can order anything you do not see. Wonderful service and extra activities such as book clubs and kid events.

If you're visiting Athens for the first time and you have any interest in books at all, this is the place to go. Hands down one of the best independent bookstores in the country.

This is the most charming bookstore! I have been to both locations and the staff is so kind and helpful. Atmosphere is very cozy also. They were very patient with my 6 year old and helped her find an amazing book series that she LOVES! The staff helped us find another great book for my daughter when she finished the first series she was on. Anything that gets children excited about reading is 5 stars in my book. I love the personal experience you get when coming to Avid. Will definitely be back!
