Beautiful well maintained trails. Easy parking. Bit tricky to find exaclty where to go for some one new. But went to the vistor center and they were very helpful.

Beautiful views, well maintained trails and plenty of parking. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is the high volume of hikers. I personally like a more secluded area. But, if you scroll through the pictures it's easy to understand why so many people visit this place. It's worth a look.

Today was our first visit to this side of Red River Gorge. It was a beautiful fall day so the trails were crowded. Parking was full but if you have some patience you will find empty spots. Plenty of places to even pull off into a scenic spot to photograph. The trails were easy to moderate and each opening had plenty of posted maps to mark where your starting and ending would be. Restrooms available too and some spots had picnic tables to enjoy the outdoors. Gravel road inside the Gorge so slow driving.

Beautiful country, but extremely overcrowded on a beautiful October Saturday. We typically avoid Saturday outings, and our experience here confirms the wisdom of that choice. Most hikers were good citizens, but unfortunately a group of scouts and a church youth group were disruptively noisy, adversely impacting the many other hikers in the area. Sad, as both groups had adult "leaders" with them who conspicuously failed to provide good trail etiquette guidance.

The Auxier Ridge trail is beautiful. The second best overlook in Kentucky is about 2.2 miles in over easy-moderate terrain. The best overlook is Raven Rock, which can be seen from this trail (look for the large rock with railings off the right side of the trail when heading out.)

Are you an explorer and have a drive to push yourself in the great outdoors? The Auxier Ridge Trail (#204) is one of the most diverse trails in the Red River Gorge. Along the ridgetops, cliffs and valleys, you'll see sandstone, a variety of trees, boulders, rock shelters, clear streams and naturally formed arches. Courthouse Rock is the most famous destination along this trail, where some adventurous souls ascend and repel at their own risk. If you extend your trip and want to add additional miles, Double Arch has a great vantage point, especially atop the arch!
