As you plan your trip to the airport today, please, please stay safe. We are dry out here at the airport, but many roads in Green Bay are covered in water or closed. We came across this photo of Vince Lombardi and his wife at Austin Straubel airport from 1959 and we just love it!
The photo was posted on the Green Bay Development News and states: They were met by "Green Bay Packers President Dominic Olejniczak. Lombardi was here to meet with the team’s board of directors at the Hotel Northland; days earlier he had signed as head coach of the Packers. The plane in the photo was operated by North Central Airlines, once the only airline serving Green Bay’s airport. Only 10 people are chosen to train out of the 60 to 120 fighter pilots who apply each year.
