I have travelled through hundreds of airports and this experience by far was the worst experience. They don't have enough staff to accommodate the hundreds of people that are trying to get on flights. With only 2 TSA agents checking flyers and airline staff in, the line wraps around to the baggage claim. No staff doing line control, or there to ask questions. Half of the line was about to miss their flight, and they kept making announcements that you had 4 minutes left. Literally the most stressful experience. For a small airport with only 4 terminals. You need to get it together. This is a destination airport, which gets busier by the year. Spend the money and do it right, and get here two hours before as if you're flying international

This airport is not TSA Precheck equipped but their screening is quick and efficient. AVL is a very clean airport, with a single commissary, adequate parking and easy access from major roadways and towns. There are a few art displays and a waiting area for young children.

The worst airport Ive experienced. Almost every flight I have been on has been delayed. The airport is understaffed and there are often no reps from the airlines to speak with. Flights also tend to be delayed and then cancelled without explanation. My wife is there now flying out for a funeral and of course yet again a delayed flight which will cause her to miss her connection. Loads of room for improvement.

BEAUTIFUL, small, intimate and convenient. Everything about this airport is enjoyable! Of course, I wish there were more opportunities to dine (as in a restaurant) that also allows you to watch the planes come and go -- but I guess that's for another time.

Every time I have flown from AVL I am so pleased. I have flown from Charlotte, Seattle, Boston, CHARLESTON, WV, Dullesso big, small and in betweenevery season. I never dread going to the Airport in Asheville, small friendly and very efficienttheir TSA alarm picked up my surgical pins and plate that never raised at sound at the others. they never missed a beat, scanned me and frisked me and i was on my waya great break from the big city drama and divaswell worth any extra mula!!!💖

Out of about 40 airports I've been to, this is the best one. Small, quick, such nice people, clean. I try to fly out of AVL whenever I can

Small airport that is relatively clean. Easy to get in and out of. Unfortunately, because of its size, everyone who works there is very laid back. Meaning, agents are in no hurry to take care of your bags and TSA takes their sweet time going through your stuff or patting you down. It drives me crazy, but I'm used to flying out of bigger airports. Greenville and Charlotte are significantly more efficient with their processes (also significantly more affordable). Sometimes, it's worth the extra 1-2 hour drive.

This is a nice smaller airport with car rentals steps away outside the door. Its easy to find your way around, not overly crowded, but the car rental lines were long and only a couple lanes open, even though it seems they knew they had 100 people needing cars. Guess you wait in line But the airport itself was nice, clean, just fine, and the workers were friendly that we spoke too. Overall this is a great place to fly in/out of if you with short and quick lines thru security.

Horrible, I work at this airport. Lousy customer service. They bring in volunteers at an airport to avoid paying people. Hire very few police to save money. Crumbling sidewalks and poorly lit. I've seen more than one person go head first to the sidewalk while taking the long walk to their car. There's alot of tension between people working there. One person there recently got attacked and beat up by someone working there. Go to a professional airport nearby. GSP or Charlotte and rent a car. GSP is only one hour away and Charlotte an hour and fifty minutes away from this airport. Many people do. It's becoming the thing to do after people realize this airport is unprofessional and lacks the attention and integrity people expect. You will save money on the high price of flying here.

Easy to navigate (because it's tiny), TSA might be a little overeager but overall not a bad place to fly out of.

Best place to fly out of but they don''t have a lot of routes where you want to go. Clean, modern airport and with few flights the TSA line is very short. You only need to arrive an hour ahead of your flight due to the speedy security. When picking up passengers, there is a convenient Cell Phone Light where you can wait for free until your passenger is out of baggage claim. I find this is an even better airport than GSP, which is also excellent.

This is a very poor airport. It is not well maintained, the staff are not very helpful, and there are seemingly endless delays. I know the Asheville area likes to think of itself as some kind of destination. This airport, however, does not add to the image that is in the process of being created. It is also in the middle of nowhere and does not offer convenient transportation. Avoid it.
