My experience with AZA United has always been positive. They provide a much needed service.
I was very excited to begin working at AZA, as initially it seemed like it was a very welcoming company and most importantly, I was thrilled to get to work with the children. During the onboarding process I felt like I was spoken to like a child, and I was cut 0 slack even though I was a brand new employee who had never used any of the technology they use before or been in an ABA setting. I was also "let go" very abruptly, and the reasoning did not even remotely line up with the handbook policies. I was given nothing but positive praise from everyone but my supervisor, who I never actually met in person, and who never actually supervised any of the work I did. The company does not allow for mess-ups as you adjust to the work-flow, and leaving a session for a family emergency (like, hospital emergency) after being told it was ok literally resulted in 1/2 (I think?) of my termination. Again, super unclear why I was fired. I really enjoyed the family I worked with and a lot of the people I met, but my supervisor was the least professional and least understanding boss I've ever had - to a shocking degree. Arizona is an at-will state so there is nothing to be done, but huge disappointment considering how excited I was for this roll.
Scheduled an appt ‘over-the phone’ that was Incredibly important/imperative to me and my future plans, and patiently waited as it was a month out…no one contacted me. Sick.
I have a young adult who receives vary services through Aza for over a decade. And anytime we have questions or need help they ready and willing. We appreciate the support and will stay with this amazing dedicated group!
The process of getting clients and respite caregivers up and going is particularly slow here. Staff responds to emails and calls in less than timely manner which is a large part of the problem. These families need help with their children sooner rather than later, so frankly, this is sad. I switched to a different respite company and with their quick action and communication, I was able to get going with the family within a week whereas with AZA United 3 weeks had passed since the initial on-boarding and the communication about the steps and process was inadequate with responses to inquiries taking multiple days.
