  As a newbie to diving, I was encouraged to take the Open Water certification course at Argonaut Diving. I am so glad I did. What a wonderful and class act diving school. Fantastic instructors and assistants and dive masters. The whole crew is outstanding - Really! Fun and very informative classroom sessions. Plenty of pool time and as I had multiple ear issues, Fred and his team were very patient and helpful with me in the pool and the open water. Scott Welton did my last 2 open water dives and took a day out of his weekend to help me get certified. My ears are a-ok and I received my certification!! Yay!! Advanced Open Water course, here income! Thank you Fred and your team at Argonaut Diving!!

  I would LOVE to give 10 stars for this business.
  I know this place from my boyfriend who took Fred's classes before.
  
  FRED HAS AN AMAZING TEAM. I took open water class this summer with Fred. There were some assistant instructors that helped us during the course. Even though it was a big class at that time, we were broke up into several groups (2-3 people each team + Instructor/Assistant Instructor). Strongly recommend Arganout Diving to others.

  I took some classes (OPW, Advanced, Nitrox) with Fred. He is funny and very knowledgeable. They also offer diving trips together with the team which I think it is fun to explore diving sites around PNW.

  WARNING: You will fall in love with both SCUBA diving and the staff at Argonaut Diving.
  
  I had never thought to SCUBA dive until my brother and I were going to Mexico. He called me a bad name when I said I wanted to snorkel in Cabo. He said snorkeling is for people who don't have the courage to dive. (Well, I paraphrase - you know how brothers can be) He told me to go get my SCUBA certification.
  
  I had met the owner of Argonaut Diving, Fred at a networking group and signed up for his Open Water PADI Certification. Let me tell you, the experience was the fifth most amazing experience of my life, behind only kissing my wife for the first time, marrying her, and then the birth of each of our two kiddos. If you need any further convincing read-on. Otherwise, sign up – it will be incredible.
  
  I, and my 11 new friends/classmates, started in a Thursday class room session to gain the necessary knowledge set. Then, the following Saturday and Sunday evenings were spent in the pool at Forrest Lake Park. For the pool sessions, we were paired up with a Dive Buddy, then assigned an Instructor. My Dive Buddy and I learned how to properly set up our gear, then into the pool we went. I was incredibly anxious and couldn't properly sink under the water due to shallow breathing. Thankfully, Leslie helped me with my weights and told me to relax and slow my breathing. On the next attempt, I sank right under and felt the amazing sensation of breathing under water! The Instructor walked us through several basic exercises and let us ‘play’ in the deep end of the pool. We learned the basics of diving in a safe, confined environment and left the Sunday session very comfortable with our skills.
  
  The following weekend, we started at Alki Cove #2. Again, 12 of us nervous students. And again, Fred and team were able to pair us up and assign us a dedicated Instructor. Two students, one Instructor. My Instructor was an amazing person named Erica, and when we dropped down under the water the first time, I actually held her hand for the first 15 minutes. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a courageous man, but dropping into the open water that first time was scary! I was so lucky to have her there reassuring me. She guided me through the skills practice, we got signed off by the Divemaster, and then off we went exploring the sea bed. During that dive, she showed me how to alternate between checking my air, correcting my buoyancy, and of course observing the magnificence around us.
  
  We performed three more dives to prove the remainder of the skill competencies and to again practice by touring the under sea. We found a small sunken boat, limitless crab, fish and shrimp, and even a beautiful memorial. We completed the final dive and then all of us regrouped and celebrated on the beach as officially certified Open Water Divers!
  
  It has only been two weeks since my certification, but I have since dived with my new friends 3 times and have signed up for 3 more classes.
  If you have any interest in SCUBA, Argonaut Diving is the place to train. They have amazing staff and are fostering a fantastic community of safe and fun-loving divers!

  Another great part of Argonaut Diving is their Fun Dives / Dive Trips.
  Their San Juan Islands trip with Bandito Charters this past Saturday was spectacular in all respects. And the Fun Dive BBQ's are great.
  Others have mentioned the expert teaching of Fred and his staff.
  I'd like to add that diving with them, and the time before and after is truly a lot of fun!

  Learning to dive through Fred and his Argonaut team was the best thing that ever happened to me. I highly encouraged anyone who is interested in diving to sign up and give it a shot. It is the least boring, most laugh and smiles filled diving education you can ever receive!

  I've had the privilege of taking classes from Fred twice in the course of my SCUBA education. Fred and all the Argonaut instructors go above and beyond to create a fun and safe learning environment. I can absolutely recommend Argonaut classes to any diver at any skill or comfort level.

  If you're going to learn to dive, or improve on your diving skills, you will have a hard time finding a better diving program than Argonaut Diving. They consistently maintain a student to staff ratio that is just short of unbelievable. When I did my Advanced Openwater certification the ratio was 2 to 1, which I thought was amazing. Since then I have taken a variety of other certifications and have discovered that is pretty much the norm. In fact I've been involved in classes with Argonaut where the "student teacher" ratio was closer to 1:1!! Anyone who has ever tried to learn any kind of skill in a challenging environment can appreciate the importance of having someone skilled close by, demonstrating, coaching, making corrections in real time. I you have ever wasted time in a class that was too big, where the instructors were stretched too thin, you know what a frustrating waste of time and money it can be. Not so with Argonaut Diving. These people love what they're doing and they're great at crearting a safe, fun, yet challenging environment where help and good coaching is almost always little more than an arms length away. Its no accident that so many people who takes a class from Argonaut, come back to take another, and another. Just like I have. And the fact that they put together dive adventures, both locally and far away, is a great and continuing bonus. To my mind they are a lot more than just a diving school - more like a small community of enthusiastic divers committed to sharing their love for the sport, and the adventures and comaradere that go with it.
