Our Down’s Syndrome sister age 50 spent her final 21 months at Applewood Rehabilitation and Skilled Nusing Care Center. She received excellent care despite being nonverbal. I felt fully involved in her care. The staff works hard but it is apparent they enjoy being there and the residents are family.
The lady's in the office are wonderful and do a lot for the residents and their staff!!! They are a big family at Applewood!!
As a rehabilitation facility it does not meet the requirements for patients that are non senior. Staff is over worked and under staffed. The facility is not clean. Overall this facility is more of a nursing home than rehab can not be both. The reputation is not the same. The actual team helped me walk.
My father was a short term resident for about a month in early 2009 and REALLY loved it! Actually as I write this, he is still there, but will be leaving tomorrow. If you have any questions feel free to contact me at my gmail account. (laurieintexas).
Staff and care were exceptional.
