Verry cool restaurant. Nice staff, great food. Prices and food quality are quite a step above average. More a fine diner then a family restaurant.

The best thing about this restaurant is how fancy it is. The view is nice, everything is shiny and clean, and overall it had a nice atmosphere. The food is good, but it's not something I need to make sure I have again.

Only gave two stars because the view and the food are good. I would love to come here more often if it weren’t for the service I’ve received every time I’ve come! Each time it’s been painfully slow even when not busy, very minimal communication from waiters other than asking what we want to order, forgetting items, only providing decent service when about to drop off the bill probably in hopes of getting a good tip. Today, I made a request for a flatbread refill and the waiter comes back 15 mins later to say “I forgot”, waited another 5 for it to finally come. Not sure if it’s because I’m younger so I may not look like I’d tip as much but I think this will be the end of my meals here!

So for the price I payed I would like a quieter more tasteful dining experience. Also do not recomend for a vegetarian, not much there. I truly believe a better restaurant deserves this view

Wonderful dinner. We sat outside with beautiful views of the bay. We had the prawns for an appetizer, which were amazing. Then a cesar salad and halibut for dinner. Great selection of wines too. Exceptional service, beautiful scenery, very relaxing a perfect night.

The first time I ate here everything was perfect, but I have eaten here often enough to see how inconsistent the kitchen is. It's too bad, because when they get it right they really get it right. But when they get it wrong it can be really foul. I've eaten a perfect shrimp scampi here before and the shrimp practically melted in my mouth, but tonight the shrimp we're over cooked and tough. My husband had worse luck tonight. He ordered the chicken shortcake which was explained to him as a "deconstructed" chicken pot pie. But it was completely tasteless. About what you would expect if someone mixed flour and water into a gravy with no seasoning and then poured it over everything. He would have sent it back to the kitchen but he didn't want to make the evening unpleasant for our dinner companions. I did appreciate the early bird 4 course dinner deal, but surrounding a badly prepared dinner entree with multiple courses doesn't make it easier to swallow. They need to figure out how to operate their kitchen better, maybe fewer menu options would help. Good food is more important to me than number of choices. Until they get some consistency in the kitchen we will probably be exploring other places to celebrate our special occasions.

Our favorite nice restaurant in Bellingham. The food and service are reliably good, with in-season specials. They have an early bird 3-course dinner which is a great deal if you don't mind eating on the early side. The views of Bellingham Bay and the marina are spectacular. It's our favorite place to bring guests, they always leave impressed.

I had the most amazing time here with my husband.
Please do not pay attention to those poor reviews on here. This is by far one of the better restaurants in Bellingham, if not the best. I think the service was fantastic, and the food was superb. Our server was cheerful, happy, and the prices are great for the quality that you are getting.

I have been to Anthony's Hearthfire Grill a few times, I enjoyed the service and food, for this reason I returned again on Friday night. The hostess was great! We chose to sit in the lounge. It is too bad that one snooty waiter can give you the feeling of not wanting to return to the Hearthfire ever again. He wasn’t pleasant, welcoming and basically threw the menus on the table. We asked him a couple of questions and when he answered he couldn't even open his mouth speak, just a “rude” "Mm-mm". Really?
I have to admit he was cheerful when he dropped off the bill, thinking that we would forget his previous behavior. I have always thought, if you don't like working with the public, then don't. There are several other occupations to choose.
I am hoping this was an isolated incident as former visits were enjoyable, but for now, I won’t return to the Hearthfire.response / report this review -

I've had 5 steak meals here, and not a single one of them has ever been cooked to what I ordered - medium rare isn't that hard to do! Their flat bread is good, but service is usually incredibly slow. Last time I went it was so bad that they gave me a voucher for a future meal. When I came back again, they again cooked my steak wrong - this time I ordered rare as an experiment, and it came out well-done. I actually laughed this time when I showed the waiter, and he laughed too. At this point I've given up on a good steak meal there.
Their seafood is good as well and usually cooked well That's the only reason they get +1 star. It's supposed to be a "grill" and a grill that can't cook a steak shouldn't be in business.response / report this review -

We came for my dad's birthday tonight. Our server was AMAZING. He was incredibly attentive, was very receptive when we let him know that my mom and I are both dairy-intolerant, and was very kind to us. I slipped away at one point during dinner to speak to the people at the front counter and ask if they did anything for birthdays and they brought out my dad's creme brulee with a candle on it, which I thought was sweet. The food did take a while to get to us, but it did taste good. The early dinner is super worth it; $24 for a 4-course meal! Definitely recommend.

My boyfriend and I had an amazing 3 course dinner thanks to a gift certificate. We started with the delicious Dungeness Crab and corn chowder. Then for our entrees we had their surf and turf. For dessert Tim had a warm caramel sundae and I enjoyed a gooey chocolate cake with peppermint ice cream. Plan on being at the restaurant a few hours. Enjoy eating the food SLOW.
