Friendly staff. Went out of their way to keep us fed after all the restaurants were closed for the night and Pizza Hut couldn’t deliver from fort Atkinson because of the snow. Thanks for a great stay!

Wish I could rate it -5. When we went to check in we had to wait for the front desk person. When she came to the desk she looked like she had just woke up. Once we got to our room my fiance opened the drawer between the beds and found a razor blade. He sat down at the table and there was cocaine residue on it. So glad he found both and not our 7 year old. When we told the front desk person and the owner they tried to justify it by saying they hadnt used the upstairs all winter and that they had housekeeping issues. They offered to move us to a different room. This room was not as bad as the first except for the dirty washcloth hanging on the shower head and the furniture covered in stains. I wouldnt let a dog stay in this place.

We got a whirl pool suit. The first room was okay. The whirl pool didn't work. Moldy fridge. So we got put in another room. Coffee maker has never been cleaned. Pube hair on toilet. At least the whirl pool worked in this one. Breakfast was a joke. Front desk guy was nice.

I must say, I have never felt more welcome at a hotel! At check in they were having a small gathering in the lobby and the owner and his wife overed my son and I to have some grilled food that was outright awesome. They made us feel like old friends. As for our stay, the place was clean and well maintained with a nice layout. I would highly recommend staying here and will make this hotel on my must stay when in the area list when traveling.

This may be the worst hotel in America. See my photos. The room was dusty and did not appear to have been occupied or cleaned in months. The closet was falling off the wall, and the sink was clogged. The inside of one of the lampshades was shredded, a dangerous fire hazard. I was kept awake all night by scratchy sheets and a noisy mini fridge. The parking lot was the only one in town that had not been cleared of snow & ice. The pool was covered with bubble wrap, and breakfast was #basic. Zero stars.

Disgusted! Sad to say that the other reviews seem very familiar​. I gave it 2 stars because the staff is very friendly and they accept pets, even my cats! BUT $250 for a Whirlpool suite is only acceptable if the room is clean and modern. The bathroom door is so rusted and dirty. The floor is full of hair and after sitting in the hot tub I looked over and pulled a large clump of hair off the drain. Not the best experience

Just started a 496 mile bike journey included our first night in Lake Mills at this ABVI. Dan & Kathy are new owners of this hotel. They are very pleasant, personable and could not be more helpful. My friends and I came riding in late on a rainy night. They got us checked into a clean, quiet room quickly so we could dash out a grab a delicious Mexican dinner. Good coffee and complimentary breakfast got us on our way early in the morning! Great place.

Be warned. This place is in disrepair and they are not putting a dime into it. All the poor reviews are very accurate (dirty rooms & beds, thread worn towels, curious staff, burned out light bulbs, non smoking rooms that smell like smoke, it goes on and on). Obvious sign of desperation: Recent fake 5 star reviews to boost ratings. A very telling fact: The Lake Mills Chamber of Commerce web site does NOT even list this hotel among the "Lodging Businesses" within the area!
I can't believe that the corporate office is not worried about their reputation from this franchisee.response / report this review -

The only thing helping this place is the staff. Friendly and accommodating. The room itself was dirty and the coffee pot had a white residue and the bottom of it. The breakfast consisted of Sunny D for orange juice, only two cereal choices, and stale pastries. I wouldn't stay there again.

I usually don't stay at ABVI because they are famous for bad experiences with me anyway. But this one here in Lake Mills is different. The young man at check inn was very pleasant and called me by name as if he was expecting me. He was very sharp, attentive and helpful to say the least. The room was very nice and comfortable and had everything you need. Nice place. I would definitely recommend it and return. I gave it 3 stars.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. My first clue that this hotel may not be very clean was the dirty glass on the front entrance doors. My first impression was exactly what I experience from this hotel. My room was extremely dirty, black stains on furniture, broken window that wouldn't close, and dirty bathroom. The room across the hallway from my room had the door wide open propped by a garbage container full of garbage. Had bites on my legs the following morning. Based on prior reviews there are bed bugs in the hotel. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I've been traveling for 26 years for business and never stayed in such a hotel this bad. Checked out early a day early because i couldn't stay another night in this place. The front desk receptionist said there is a 24 hour cancellation policy so i couldn't get a refund for the second night. I will be calling the main office to get a refund; if I don't get it I will call Amex and dispute the charges. The other key that this hotel is not worthy of one star is that you get a hand written receipt. Are we back in the 60's when computers didn't exist? Save your money and go somewhere else.

Quiet place but air conditioner was inadequate to cool the west facing room at all. Breakfast was as basic as it gets for hotel breakfast. Front desk staff was interesting. We won't be returning.
