The school is affordable and in the midst of changes that I hear are to make it even better. Try to have patience. Also be realistic, the price is very affordable compared to other schools. That is something I valued going to school at 28.

I have just started and already participated in Brooklyn fashion week. As well as being able to help some friends get opportunities just from going to the school as well. The teachers are kind and passionate. I can already tell that Attitude is KEY. You get what you give. Come to school willing to learn, open minded, passionate, honest, and hardworking. I strongly believe it will pay off.

I am truly grateful to American Beauty School and NYIB for giving me the opportunity to be a hairstylist at Brooklyn Fashion Week. I had no idea signing up with the school that I would be given such an amazing experience. The instructors are experts and will give you one on one instruction if needed. I am more confident in my work because of the skills I've learned attending this school.

I went to get my hair dyed three weeks ago and I showed them what I wanted and they told me they couldn’t do silver or grey so I settled for blonde but I ended up with yellow hair not the blonde I wanted and the stylist could do a full wash and set that I paid for because the salon closed 2 hours into the dying process. I still haven’t gotten a chance to get the rest of the service I paid for which would be a full wash and set.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I called looking to get my hair done, I was told by reception to arrive before 2:30pm. I arrived at about 1:15pm. After standing at the front desk for 10mins being completely ignored, I was finally approached by a woman. I let her know the service I was interested in getting, she rudely said I would have to come back tomorrow. I asked why as the woman on the phone said to arrive before 2:30pm. She, in a nasty tone said they didn't have enough students she did not want to over work them, which is completely understandable. She then just walked away, I asked well what time should I come back, and she responded as if I was annoying her, 9AM! The manner in which she spoke to me was completely unnecessary and uncalled for. I will not be going back tomorrow.

The students are very nice and do a very good job. But unfortunately they don't use towels any more to wrap around the customers neck, they used cheap paper towels. the water drips onto you upper body . it wet my facial mask as well as the T-shirt I had on Saturday. 2 teachers were notified of this. I had to take off my facial mask and put paper towel over my nose and face while the student dried my hair. This is a health and safety issue with the pandemic. They did not have disposable mask even to give me one when this occurred.

Don't expect your hair to come out the way u expect it to. What do you expect after all it's a beauty school prices are reasonable just because the students get to practice on your hair. So expect the unexpected💇

My girlfriend brought me here for the first time, the 2 ladies in the front were stoic looking and seemed angry. One of them hastily looked at my friend and told her that she could not service her. They kept chsnging their prices for their services, one says $25 and another worker there intercepted and increased the price. My friend asked them why they were giving us bad stares? No smiles, they seemed angry and to be honest with you, i believe they chest clients by making up their own prices;( no apologies, we left! Very unprofessional -/ the 2 ladies in the front need to be reaced with happy, cute passionate young inspiring girls, not those 2 hags that really need imptovement on themselves paired with a holden facelift! And the gay, goldie locks manager who seem like he was in lala land needs a straightener on himself!! They just lost 2 customers and many more to come! My bbf is very disappointed and vowed to never return! Be caregul gals these peeps cheat clients by hicking their rates!😡

They are the WORST ever Let me share some helpful information with my friends who might consider this business Just stay FAR away and order the Milady Book online!!!

If you was wondering why this school is so CHEAP compared to others; FINANCIAL RACISM and POOR PERFORMANCE (bald Mannequins and balding Customers in the Bronx, NY)

The minimum/least requirement for any Student passing is 70%, however according to their 'School Catalog', their percentage of success is 53% and for job placement of 2012-2013 graduates is 65% OMG!!! those are failing grades

Unfortunately, now I overstand the meaning of 'you get what you pay for.' This business takes advantage of a minority community of women with PROMOTING their LACK OF CARE method of teaching Hair Care and Skin Care, (along with proof of other customer's reviews should be a prime example of how some NYS Licensed Cosmetologist teach) this social UN-PROFESSIONALISM and consistent VIOLATIONS of respect

ABS - Ms. Wendy Yang, Steve Yang (son), Residence and Community Police are aware of the demographics and the ratio of student population representing their school, (84% Black/Hispanic races, 9.7% Mixed races, 3.8% White) with (97.4% females and 2.6 males) so their attitude, prices and grade performances reflect accordingly

This must speaks volumes on the level of Quality Care of Education received and the level of frustration ABS services provides within our community YES! 'If this was a 'restaurant' in our community, the state would not give them an 'A'

Their graduate/licenses is at 89%, but that's due to the individual students who are determined to succeed in this profession, regardless (even if that means this school gets a honorable mention) If you asked me; 'Is it a 'Trump School' to success?' YELP!!! But with The Most High YAH, HE will direct your steps All Glory To Our Elohim!

Shalom. Read more reviews to make the best choice for you, 'We all make choices'

I am a recent graduate. The school is cool, I think they need to upgrade a bit but all I can say is if you are serious about your craft/passion you make due. It's all a learning experience to get you to where you want to be. Stay focused and you'll go far. They are helpful, most of the teachers are cool and motivating. I'm glad I finally finished cosmetology school and met a lot of friends along the way.
