Did you hear the news?? 📰 Facebook Business announced some new updates that are coming and arguably the most exciting?
The option to schedule Instagram and IGTV content up to 6 months in advance! 😱
"But you can do that through third-party schedulers, why is this so great?" you ask. Because this will be a native scheduler which means that it *should* have more options and not be as limited in capability as the third party schedulers.
...So, go check your Facebook page publishing tools and get to work! 😉
See MoreIt seems to have been one of those weeks, BUT it's Friday! 🎉 How are you celebrating?
18 years. It's hard to believe. For some, it's been the blink of an eye and for others the length of time is inexplicable.
While many focus on the tragedy and loss that day, I like to think of the positive - how our Country came together in the face of great loss and sadness. How we were all unified. How we were all proud to be an American. How nothing could stand in our way as we would overcome this together.
Last year, I had the privilege to visit New York City and toure...d the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. As a bit of a history nerd, I've visited many similar memorials - from those in Washington, D.C., to Pearl Harbor, to Normandy. But nothing could have prepared me for this.
After the subway ride, walking out from the stairs, this was my view - Freedom Tower. It stopped me in my tracks. It was breathtaking.
Freedom Tower stands at 1,776 feet tall. It's the tallest building in the United States and the Western Hemisphere. This is just one of the ways that we said, "You knocked us down, but we came back and we're better than ever."
I spent time walking around the memorial where the Twin Towers once stood then toured the museum - hearing calls from the day as the events unfolded, seeing the faces of those who we lost, walking alongside the "Survivor Stairs" from Vesey Street. It was truly one of the most heart wrenching and moving experiences of my life. I realized, this was the first memorial and museum that I had visited that was for a tragedy that occurred during my lifetime.
If you have the opportunity to visit, I strongly encourage you to do so. It will be difficult, but it will be worth it. There are no words to properly express the gratitude I have for our first responders, our military members, and our government. I've never been more proud to be an American.
{Second Photo: Inside the 9/11 Museum, the blue artwork was created to represent the sky the morning of September 11. The quote on the wall was constructed from steel from the fallen towers.}
See MoreSometimes life forces you to slow down...like when some sort of sickness hits you like a big ol' Mac truck. 🤒
It's hard when you're an entrepreneur - you feel that you need to do all. the. things. But if you're not careful and don't take time to prioritize rest and care for yourself, it'll catch up to you.
So here's the unglamorous side - sitting in PJs for the second day in a row (#dontjudge), with too many Kleenex and cough drop wrappers on the coffee table, and sipping on... tea. 🤧 Here's hoping that this sickness is gone soon & that this reminds you that it's okay to say no so that you can rest.
P.S. Share any of your get-better-quick remedies with me!
See MoreJust last week I was in Green Turtle Cay in the Abaco Islands of the Bahamas. This little island has become quite special to my husband and I. 🌴 Sadly, we had to move our departure date up due to #HurricaneDorian. The island took a direct hit on Sunday, September 1.
We are now doing all that we can to help provide relief for this amazing island and her people. Here are ways you can help:
⛑ Relief Supplies. If you are local to Bradenton/Sarasota, there are 3 drop-off location...s: Sun Window & Door in Bradenton, Pinnacle Chiropractic- A Pediatric and Pre-Natal Office, and PAINT NAIL BAR Sarasota. You can also order from Amazon & have them shipped directly to the staging warehouse in West Palm Beach. ⛑ Donate to the Green Turtle Cay Foundation GoFundMe. The Foundation is a 501c3 and all donations are tax deductible. ⛑ Purchase a limited edition #BahamasStrong hoodie from Reef + Ledge. 100% of the proceeds are going to the Green Turtle Cay Foundation.
As more local donation drop-off locations are established, I will update the blog post. We ask that all local donations be made by Friday, September 13.
For additional details and links to support Green Turtle Cay, head to the blog.
See MoreIt's hard to believe that the long weekend is coming to an end. We hope that you were able to relax and reset for an abundant week ahead! 🎉

We know that SEO is how you optimize your website so that your content appears in relevant search engine results. But - search engines can't "read" photos...or can they? 🧐
For the longest time, there have been various ways to optimize images for SEO. These have included alt text, title tags, and more. But - Google recently announced that Google Photos now lets you search for text in pictures you've taken via the Lens feature. The feature allows you to then copy & paste text f...rom photos, as well as the ability to search the web for photos of menu items, add contact information from a business card to your address book, and other tricks.
Our thoughts? This is a pretty big development that we're sure is just the tip of the iceberg in new technology. We can't wait to see how it may affect image SEO in the future! 📸

I'll be the first to admit that networking groups are not my favorite thing - which presents a unique challenge as a business owner. But this group? It's more than networking. We are a group of young professionals, artists, and business owners who are working on something bigger than ourselves.
We're working together to make our community great for the present and the future generations. We're working to start a movement. Where there hasn't typically been a ...seat at the table for us, we're bringing our folding chairs and sitting down anyways. We are Breakfast & Big Ideas. 💡
If you're a Bradenton local and want to join us, shoot me a message and I'll get you all the details - we'd love to have you!

Google is now making podcasts playable in search results! The search engine stated that they are going to show podcasts in search results based on its understanding of what is being discussed in the episode.
Earlier this year, Google began automatically transcribing podcast episodes to make them more searchable in the Google Podcasts app - which explains how they are able to now use that technology to make them searchable.
...Do you have a podcast? How do you think this will affect your SEO?

See MoreI know the feeling - you're out and about, enjoying life, and then BOOM, you think I *have* to post this online. 🤳🏼
Guess what? You don't HAVE to post in the moment!
In fact, I can't think of a time when I have! 🤔 I swear by planning and scheduling tools like @buffer (my tool of choice). Below are just a few benefits to scheduling your social media content...
...✔️ Be strategic with your content. It's easier to choose photos and write compelling captions that will resonate with your audience rather than feeling pressured to do so on the fly.
✔️ Consistency! By planning and scheduling your content, you're able to have a more consistent online presence.
✔️ Reach. Scheduling your social media content guarantees that your posts go live at optimal times of the day to reach your audience!
By planning and scheduling your social media content, you are going to ensure a higher success rate and be able to breathe easy knowing that you can enjoy the moment - rather than stressing about needing to post in real time.
