Good for beginners. Slopes are very short. There were to many people and big lines. However it was the Christmas day so maybe another day it is not that crowded.

Snowboard instructor Jeff was great. Super busy Christmas day. Somewhat unorganized processes. We had small baked potato with chili and a vegan veggie bowl, plus hot chocolate and Diet Pepsi for $26. Not that great, but what do you expect when you are held captive and can't "picnic", according to signs. People were nice at the place, but just way too crowded. Conditions are very icy, so snowboarders be advised to wear wrist guards and knee pads. Overall, I had a great time.

Great place, great staff! Food is terrible and way over priced, really the only complaint. Really good instructors and their kids Ski Wee program was fantastic! 5 stars outside of the food.

Pleasant and lively ski complex, I don't ski so we just came to eat a quick lunch and watch people ski down the hill, had a good time. $1 to park, typical cafeteria food. Pizza / corndogs and such.

The food is awful and severely overpriced. The portion sizing of food is atrocious. Bring your own lunch or go eat somewhere in town. I feel bad for the employees who have to eat there. They do get half off food prices but it’s still insanely expensive. Also there’s so much unused space in the lodge. There’s a whole room upstairs that would make a nice lounge or something. There’s a bar that’s unused that would make a wonderful coffee shop. The owner needs to rethink how he spends his profits. Idk just a thought

Iv been skiing cent i was 3 and im 13 we have aways gone here they have a gaming room,big fire place and food such as French fries,corn dogs,chicken tenders,mashed potatoes ect.
After you get doen skiing they have racks outside where you can put you ski and poles so you can go in side and take a break.I suggest doing the night skiing because it is cheaper and in my opinion it is funner.response / report this review -

Great mountain for kids. Or for a short trip. Easy trip - indoor seating and cubbies for your gear. Mountain's not super exciting, but well kept. Have enjoyed going here for years.

We loved it. Great place to learn to ski and an awsome park for the snowboard guys and gals. All of the staff we came across were great and we went at the end of the season. Highly recommend for families. We used 2 way radios and were always in contact with each other.

Awesome staff. Friendly, very helpful, 2nd year renting here and equipment is really nice, great prices. Staff suggested where we went based on conditions and it made our ski trip complete. Will be coming back next year.

My daughter, her four kids ages 3 to 6, and I skiied here, yesterday. It was a great place for the kids to learn to ski. Ski school for the 5 and 6 year old was a success. Nursery for the 3 year old, after he quickly tired of skiing, was enjoyable for him. He was happy the whole time. The customer service is outstanding. For us Southerners who get the powdered slopes of the West infrequently, Appalachian Ski Mountain is an user friendly, unintimidating place to hone your ski skills. I give it 5 stars.

I have two kids 11yrs/18 months so it's hard to balance the two ages there. They do have a gloomy childcare area but do not have any where for young children to hangout with there parents, also the have one ramp that's on the outside to the main entrance but to get down where ski rental and ski packages are a long flight of stairs, so it was hard to help my 11yr with his first time putting ski's on and have a stroller . Also the line for the food does not accommodate strollers or wheelchairs. There's a deck outside that the railing is old and moves if you lean on it. I would recommend if you have infants to 4yrs to try and find a more kid friendly ski park.
