I don't like reviewing other shops but this is out of fair warning. (Quality of experience can change depending on who's working, the people today had issues).Shop is not on top dealing with customers on the floor. Wasted 10 minutes going back and forth trying to get a floor pump to use on a flat repair. Got crowded because of poor customer management. Tried to be polite because I can understand being burned out, was not received well.
Shout out to nate, a big thank you for fixing my flat tire on an electric bike, I went to 4 different shops and no one wanted to work on it, we were on vacation and riding the trails when this happened, didn't know what else to do this was our last chance, stopped here and nate looked at my tire which was not an easy fix, there was no way to dismantle this tire without cutting wires, but he said he would give it a try, 2 hours later he had it fixed, no wires cut, he worked around them (NOT EASY) with a new inner tube and better rated tire all for a very reasonable price, vacation not ruined after all as we were back on the trails😊 thank you nate!!
Problematic manager. My bike was dismantled/stolen by what the police thought was a homeless person so the owner decided to "comfort" me by going into an unbelievably offensive rant how Sussex County "Ships homeless people into our community" - direct quote- so I shouldn't be surprised that my chained up bike is missing its seat and wheels. I guess he was referring to the fact that our area finally opened up a very needed homeless shelter to solve the problem of a camp site near Rehoboth.
I rented a road (narrow tire) road bike from All Wheels on 8/16/17 and certainly would never do so again. The bike itself was good quality, but it wasn't set up properly for a rental and All Wheels did not adjust it properly to fit me.
The principal problem was that the pedals had toe clips and straps. Unless a rider is used to slipping his foot in and out of the clip from the rear, the straps will prevent the rider's foot from coming out of the strap to the side, such as is usually necessary in case of emergency. I am an experienced bike rider but my own bike doesn't have toe clips or straps. Hence, when I tried to get off the rental bike, I didn't think to slide my left foot out rearward, and instead my foot remained trapped. As a result, the bike and I fell and I strained a knee ligament. A rental bike should not have toe straps unless the renter specifically asks for them!
Second, All Wheels did not adjust the seat height perfectly for me. They just asked me how tall I am and set the seat accordingly. It was maybe a half in or inch too low, and the seat height requires a wrench for adjustment so I couldn't readjust it myself out on the road. A person's height is not exactly correlated with leg length, and leg length is what matters for seat height adjustment.
Finally, the gearshift was in a weird place on the bike which took quite a while to figure out. All Wheels should have explained the gearshift to me. My own bike's gearshift is much more obvious.
Bottom line: All Wheels may be a competent bike repair and sales store, but they lack the knowledge necessary to rent bikes safely. Go somewhere else.
George & Nate took great care of me. They repaired my bike, basically the same day. And did it for a fair price!
I have both bought and rented bikes there for years. Great selection of bikes and the best prices of any shop I have visited. I Bring friends to rent bikes there because the lowest prices and the best bikes to rent. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Owner is really knowledgeable and a great mechanic. Getting ready to buy a scooter soon. You can bet I am buying it from them.
Thank you so much for having me accompanied here when I arrived at your store. I can tell that you are well-organized in several aspects of your business.
Bought a new Trek hybrid yesterday. - and George was great! Low key, informative, straight ahead. Highly recommend!!
George went the extra mile to get new front brakes on my Bianchi San Jose after we broke the spring on one side. Really nice staff, beautiful space, nice selection of road bikes.

Keep in mind that people tend to rate things online when they are way too pissed off to think straight. My FACTUAL rating is based on my experience two weeks ago. I have noticed MIKE Is who you should TALK TO FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! He is the MAN!! VERY knowledgable and, in my personal opinion, the reason this shop is still thriving. Mistakes will be made. Perfection is too much to expect but Mike is ALWAYS there to help with your problem. There was only one time he couldn't help me and it's because I made the mistake of revving my bike too high and I was stuck on the road 7 miles away. Understandable. That was my fault. ITS A BEACH BIKE SHOP!! You're not buying a bike at the RITZ CARLTON. Lol Good shop. I'd give it a 5 - Star if all the employees were as competent, professional, and knowledgable as Mike. I still service my bike there and LOOK FORWARD TO FUTURE BUSINESS!! (b^.^)b
