What an amazing place. It was free to get in, but we were more than willing to give donations. We bought several souvenirs from their gift shop. Most importantly though there were so many wonderful exhibits to look at. This was definitely worth the trip.

If you like planes and/or the military, you should definitely stop by and check this place out. I don’t care much for either of those things, and even I found things that piqued my interest while there with family. It’s free (they have a donation box inside the entrance) and there are over a dozen retired planes outside to walk around and see. Inside there are displays about different wars and divisions of the Air Force. The collection is impressively extensive, and seems to be well-maintained.

Such a great attraction for the gulf coast. Best of all it's free. I think there would be very few people that wouldn't find a visit entertaining. They have a impressive collection of air craft, explosive weapons that span WW1 to current state of the art examples, great collection of guns spanning generations, and even cockpits you can sit in. If nothing else get your picture taken by the MOAB "Mother of all bombs."

This is an awesome museum for aircraft! My son loves airplanes, and he's not old enough to understand the engineering of it all yet, but that's why it's worth starting young. He enjoyed flipping the switches in the airplane cockpits. We had a good time. It's totally worth a family visit if you've not been and you're in the area

I'm fascinated by aerospace and aviation history and museums, and this museum is not the largest, but it is a real gem!

The campus of the museum, which is filled with an impressive assortment of aircraft, is open and fully accessible to anyone, even if the museum itself is closed. Feel free to pull into the parking lot and walk around the displays anytime you wish. TIP: For a great overview of the assorted aircraft on display outside, take at the look at the grounds using Google's satellite view; there are more aircraft here than you think there is just by observing things at ground-level. This is a good tip, by-the-way, for virtually all outdoor aircraft displays/museums you might wish to visit.

There are many aircraft on display that you can walk right up to and touch all of them, to impart a connective feeling with the history they lived, giving me a sense of history before I was even born

Among the amazing aircraft displayed outside is the amazing SR-71 Blackbird, and it is a thrill to be able to walk around it and touch it! What an incredible machine. Here is also a B-52, the first I'd ever seen. Most of the jets and prop-driven aircraft are from the American military stable, of course, but there are a few examples from other nations as well. So even if the museum is closed, you can still walk around the grounds outside and marvel at the aircraft that has defended our nation and our freedom so well; and a special THANK YOU to all of our veterans, past , present, and future, for your service and sacrifice. God bless you all.

The museum building itself (free, no admission charge! and closed on Sundays--ask me how I know) looks deceptively smallish from the outside, but it is not; inside there is a very impressive array of aircraft, bombs, guns, cannons, firearms, even small missiles! Very interesting, very well laid out, extremely clean and impressive. And the staff there, including the veterans who volunteer their time and memories, are just the best there is! Thank you so much!

The gift shop is on the smaller side, but it is packed with worthwhile gifts and you should definitely visit the gift shop before you leave. The cashier there (I'm sorry, cannot remember her name) was just as kind and nice as a person can be. I really enjoyed the hours I spent here, and would love to return here again!

The diversion from I-10 to the museum is not a short one, about 20 minutes south of I-10 and just north of Ft. Walton Beach, but I've done it twice now, and it is truly worth it. Very very highly recommended!

As a USMC 83-87 grunt vet, I enjoyed the C-130, but I felt old seeing this aircraft I had been in on active duty now in a museum :( This in-door/out-door museum is a must see! Mostly Cold War era planes and weapons, but remember, the cold war was a time when the aircraft and armaments development was violently increasing. There are WW2 and current weapons as well.

It was a special feeling look down the nose of a Blackbird, or look at a B-52 from close behind and imagine them in actual use during the Cold War. There are all kinds of aircraft here, and fun to walk around them all. History was provided on easy to understand, mounted placards. And the paths around the aircraft are paved.

The stained glass art you see as you walk in is unique. And the early development of the area was explained respectfully with the use of pictorial timelines right at the beginning. So a new person, unfamiliar with NW Florida, would get an understanding of Eglin.

It was shocking to stand eye level with an actual model of Fat Man. Wow. The loosening of that weapon is controversial to this day. The use of the displayed munitions is explained well and respectfully throughout this museum, as respectful as can be, realizing what these weapons actual did.

The walk through command center is walk back in time. A museum piece like this gets more rich in history every day, because it is pre-digital, and the gear used in this command center is 1960's tech, preserved and presented very well. It's a narrow isle; so you have to keep walking if others are walking behind you. This is an an actual aircraft interior you are walking through. It even smells like a airplane from the 1960's, not a bad smell, maybe its something about the synthetic material used then (?).

ALL parts of this museum were CG Inspection clean when I went through. I appreciated this unique US armaments museum in NW Florida.

Great free museum! They have tons of static aircraft outside as well as an expansive collection of items inside. Definitely a great way to kill a couple of hours.

Really enjoyed myself! I’m a SR71 geek so it was my highlight, but I’ve always wanted to see a B52, so that was awesome as well. I was happy to see a fresh coat of paint going on the AC-130 Spectre. Inside had enough to look at for a few hours, gift shop had plenty of options, all around a great experience! Make sure to donate a few dollars since there’s no admission charge! Also be sure to thank a veteran as there are usually at least a few roaming around!

Plan on spending many hours seeing and learning about aircraft ranging from WW2 to present day. There are also interactive exhibits and is great for children to adult history buffs. Completely free and worth the visit.

I'm so glad our family had the opportunity to come here! It was an amazing field trip for my army veteran and out aircraft loving family. Such an incredible opportunity to see so many amazing military aircraft on display. My children even got to meet a pilot of one of the Vietnam Era planes!

If you're thinking about going but having doubts for any reason, GO! I highly recommend it!

Hey free self-paced Munitions Museum. There are also static displays of aircraft outside. The entire museum is wheelchair accessible and an elevator inside for the second floor. There is a gift shop and restroom as well. The museum is funded by donations and a box for donations is positioned as soon as you enter the front door. There is also a static MOAB at the Museum as well.

Excellent little Air Force museum. Little bit of everything from small arms, bombs and missiles, to a B-52 and an SR-71A. Takes about 1-1/2 to 2 hrs to walk thru the exhibits, maybe 3 if you read everything. Its also free (though donations are welcome and deserving). Great break from the usual beach tourist traps.

This place was such a nice change from everything else in the area that charges you more than you're used to for nearly everything. Completely free and our child loved all of the airplanes and helicopters on display (so did we). Definitely worth the trip to see a little history of our military as well as get the chance to see a lot of these aircraft up close and personal.

This museum is awesome. Not only featuring several armament examples but a wide range of popular aircraft such as the F-15C, A-10, AC-130 and even an SR-71. The museum is completely free with the option to donate if you chose. The MOAB next to the building is something that should be seen in person.
