Description

We are all Aikido-ka specifically training in the art of Nihon Goshin Aikido, and are members of the original Nihon Goshin Aikido Association.

We invite you to stop by our dojo to learn more about us and our art. We are proud traditional martial artist and are eager to pass the tradition on to aspiring martial arts. We do not train in point-style fighting. We train in real-world self-defense in hand-to-hand combat, defense again guns, knives, bats, ect., and how to avoid physical confrontation when possible.

The Aikido School of Self Defense was found in 1997 by Sensei Mike Stabile and his wife Sensei Ginger Stabile.
Michael A. Stabile and Ginger Stabile began their training in Nihon Goshin Aikido in 1993 in Middletown, NY under Sensei Robert B. MacEwen, Jr. Sensei MacEwen, the second highest ranked practitioner of Nihon Goshin Aikido in the world, has been in the martial arts for over 32 years. Michael Stabile earned his Sho-Dan in 1997, his Ni-Dan in 2002 and his San-Dan in 2006. Ginger Stabile earned her Sho-Dan in 1999, her Ni-Dan in 2003, and her San-Dan in 2008. Their school is the oldest Nihon Goshin Aikido school in Georgia. Their training has led them to train law enforcement, act as private security personnel and executive protection specialists, and have been documented on CNN and other Major television networks. They have also traveled to various parts of the United States instructing and speaking at Aikido seminars.

Their daughter, D.J. Stabile is a Sho-Dan (1st Degree Black Belt) who helps instruct both juniors and adults in our dojo. She began training when she was 3 1/2 years old. She acheived the rank of Kohai Sho-Dan at the age of 13 and is the youngest female in the association to be promoted to Black Belt. Sensei DJ has a 1 year old daughter who will also train when her time comes.

The founder of our art is Shodo Morita. While stationed in Japan during his military service, Shihan Bowe began training in Nihon Goshin Aikido directly under Shodo Morita. Before returning to the USA, he was promoted to 6th degree black-belt. He founded the Nihon Goshin Aikido Association, which has grown and is now taught in several states.

From age 4 to 104, we welcome all. This is a journey to build the confidence to protect yourself and your loved ones in any circumstance.
