Despite the title, it's really not about classical Japanese martial arts - it's mostly Yoshinori Kono and his theories on body usage. But interesting, and free through March 7th.
The pulling book - an ancient collection of writings on the Chinese tradition of daoyin (guiding and pulling). Interestingly, Sokaku Takeda's student Masao Hayashima asserted that Daoist yoga (Daoyin) is one of the roots of Daito-ryu Aiki-jujutsu. This page includes a link to the complete translation of the text from the second century BCE.
Thanks to Allen Beebe for part two of this class with Rinjiro Shirata Sensei from 1991.
Get your Aiki on! Dan Harden is scheduled to return to Hawaii for a Sangenkai workshop this December 10-15. Detailed schedule and application forms coming soon - save the date!

Q: What did the atmosphere of the dojo feel like at that time?
A: Well, it was full of strange people. (laughing) That’s because it was the time when, first of all, people thought “I want to become strong”. Actually, most of the people were Yudansha in Karate, Judo or Kendo, and were already strong before they even began. (laughing) So of course, the training was severe.

Some interesting video of Kenkichi Ohgami, a student of Takuma Hisa (who trained under both Morihei Ueshiba and Sokaku Takeda).
“How peaceful and clear to leave the body behind. Bright moon, cloudless sky.” - the brush writing of Ohishi Kuranosuke.
An interesting new survey from Aikido Journal.
