Description
We offer one-on-one tutoring for adults in the areas of adult basic education and learning English as a Second Language. The tutoring sessions focus on the goals listed by the student at each assessment and reassessment. Our volunteer tutors meet with their students at the Johnson County Public Library branches and at other public locations around the community.
The ALC has a classroom located in Franklin that offers a variety of print material for adult learners as well as 2 computers equipped with learning software. The classroom is opened to tutors and students Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm.
The Adult Learning Center also partners with Johnson Memorial Hospital for the Baby TALK program. This program educates parents about the importance of early literacy activities.
