cash only- but there's a bodega on 7th & 1st with an ATM that only charges $1.75. Abraco is where you want to come and enjoy the scene, grab a cortado and stand outside sipping

Neighborhood spot that never disappoints. Cold brew and cortado are great. Try the olive oil cake or frittata too.

This tiny Portuguese espresso bar brews up a benny ($3.25)—a hybrid coffee drink similar to a cortado that's served in a tiny mug. The coffee is killer.

They serve their Cortado in a Gibraltar glass. Definitely the drink of choice - have it to stay with a slice of olive oil cake.

Order a latte with a slice of the amazing olive oil cake - you won't regret it. Definitely our favorite place to grab coffee in the East Village.

This place is all about coffee indulgence. For example, they don't have skim milk and the word "abraço" is Portuguese for hug. So, get a rich cup of anything and share it with someone huggable.

Other places will claim to have the best coffee in the city but don't be fooled- this is the best coffee in the city.

Pair an olive shortbread cookie with a cortado's perfect espresso-milk balance and enjoy at the sidewalk standing bar.

Totally lives up to the hype. Delicious. Oh, and don't ask for skim milk, they don't have it.

Best way to know what the weather is in NYC - go to Abraco, get a coffee/latte/cortado. If Coltrane is playing, it's rainy outside.

Quite simply the best coffee in New York. As if that is not enough, it is served in "We Are Here to Serve You" cups.

Christina Tosi calls it the best coffee in the East Village. "I don't care how long the line is. It's worth it every time." Try the olive oil cake too!
