John did a phenomenal job on our condos. We initially hired him to set the wallpaper in our bathroom and soon after realized he had an attention to detail unlike other carpenters on O’ahu. He’s done plenty more work for us since then including drywall installation, mudding and painting, mounting cabinet fixtures, etc. He’s skilled in locating and repairing flaws and ultimately our places turned out incredible. He always showed up on time and got right to work with a good attitude and a friendly demeanor. His detailed and thoughtful care for his work on our projects has proven his services invaluable to us. John did a great job in replacing the drywall behind the toilet at a condo in Kukui Plaza. The wax seal deteriorated over the years and started leaking. The drywall was damaged and needed replacement. John gave me a fair quote for the repair, and he was very accommodating with my constant changes for the scope of the job. He was extremely careful and took pride in his work. He used gypsum drywall, it’s better than the regular drywall. He cut the gypsum board to precisely fit around the rear discharge drain pipe and the water inline pipe, it was like a jigsaw PCS to form a nice one-piece look. He also used a metal support plate, better than the wood type support, to join the pieces together to form a strong joint and to code. The joints on the gypsum board and drywall is seamless, you cannot even tell where they connected. He used oil-based primer to seal the gypsum board and better adhesion for the finish paint. I was very pleased with the work and I highly recommend John for any drywall repairs and any indoor repairs. He normally doesn’t do screen window repairs, but he fixed it as a favor. He also fixed two doors that wouldn’t close right, it was binding before it fully closes. His price quote is better than fair and reasonable. His years of experience showed in the outstanding quality of his work.
