  Today American Eagle Outlet store in Sawgrass Mills Mall had a sales promotion of buy one get one half off and a free jean purse bag if you spend $75 USD. Well during my purchase the cashier tried to get me to apply for a store credit card. Surely I don't need any credit cards and declined. Of course she pitched the whole, "It's good for you, you can save X percent on THIS transaction, but I continued to declined. After I paid for my purchase of $74.92 + tax $79.42 she REFUSED to give me the FREE jean purse bag. She said unfortunately I was a few cents (.08) short on the $75 minimum before tax purchase total. For .08 cents she REFUSED to give me the promo bag. Well I had to go to a store manager who agreed to give me the bag as he knew it was so very ridiculous to decline me on .08 pennies. Now the real reason this cashier did not want to honor the promotional offer was NOT for the order before tax total being .08 cents less, but clearly because I respect MY credit profile, and did not want to sign up for a store credit card. My suggestion to American Eagle Outlet would be to discourage your sales associates and cashiers from PUSHING unwanted credit cards and maybe this cashier would not have been vindictive because I decline the credit card offer.

  Oh man, I came here on black Friday which prompted this review but while everything else was fine, they gotta get cashiers. Not on on black Friday, every day. They seem to be in this perpetual state of being understaffed.
