Got to see it before it was torn down and very happy I got to see it! It was really cool being there and seeing the works of art. Photos don't do it justice as the pieces are large and even multiple stories. One of the coolest art exhibits I have seen!
They took this place down and installed luxury condos. Thanks de Blasio!
I thoroughly enjoyed Meres One's tour of this cultural institution. It's an amazing place that displays beautiful art and brilliant stories. Artists come from all over the world to make contributions to this place and visitors really get to enjoy this amazing diversity. Hopefully, this place will be saved from demolition and live on as the New York City treasure that it is.
Checked out this place last time I was in NY and was really impressed! Great art and community. There was a beat boxing and freestyle competition followed by a performance from two kids, one dishing out sick flows and the other dancing his brain out. After, a cipher followed. Everyone came together in a circle, dropping beats and rapping together. To top it all off, a group of bikers did stunts up and down the street at the end. All the while, artists were working on pieces around the compound. I got lucky and saw some amazing stuff or maybe this place is always this awesome.
Interesting place to visit. They have turned graffiti into art. It is beautiful to look at and exam. Most of the pictures tell a story. It is a fun day out. There are some really good restaurants nearby to stop for lunch, dinner, and/or cocktails.
This is quite an experience. Graffiti art at its finest. LIC might seem like a long trip, but pick a warm day and head over for this. Pair it with PS1 to maximize your trip out to Queens. The art on display is colorful and expressive. It changes too from time to time.
