  Wendy was extremely helpful in planning my small wedding. She responded very quickly to every email and question I had, was flexible with all changes I had to make.even as close as a week till the event. She was extra accommodating to every request I had of the facility. It resulted in exactly the wedding my husband and I both envisioned for our selves. I am so glad that I had my wedding at The Hitching post, it was a beautiful location that has really given us memories that will last a life time. If you are looking for a wedding location in NC, no matter big or small check this place out!

  The Waldrons provided the most exquisite service ,in an extremely convenient package.
  In addition , from the moment we arrived they made my wife , myself and all of our guests feel like family.
  By the time we departed I found myself feeling as though I was leaving family behind. 1812 is a five star venue without question , from the cake decoration , all the way through the last photograph.
  As far as the venue itself , I cannot express how beautiful it is. The landscaping is out of this world , and you will find yourself wanting to wander for hours just to discover all of it's hidden secrets.
  For those of you wanting a phenomenal wedding to fit any budget , this is absolutely the venue for you.
  As a side note , on the most important day of my life , I forgot my shoes. As the word passed and I began to panic , Wendy arrived and assured me that everything would be just fine. She in fact, figured out exactly how to strike a perfect balance , and turned a huge negative into a humorous aside , and helped me play it up into a lifelong memory.

  I cannot say enough positive things about this venue and the owners! The location is simply gorgeous, from the artfully landscaped grounds, to the majestic old house. The Waldrons are wonderfully kind people who really know how to make a wedding beautiful, special, personal, and stress free! It is truly an all-inclusive venue where no detail will be overlooked. Wendy was a pleasure to work with and put me at ease from the planning phase through our wedding day. My husband and I could not have asked for a more perfect experience. Every aspect of our day was exactly what we hoped for in a small, intimate wedding, and more! I am happy to add that our special day went off without a single glitch, but most definitely ended with a "hitch". ;-) I offer highest recommendations for the 1812 Hitching Post. Thank you, again Wendy!

  Match 26, 2017 Wedding. Although we only eloped, Wendy made this day very special for my husband and I. It rained of course, but our wedding was still beautiful. She even went as far as to provide our cake (free of charge) due to the weather. The cake was beautiful! Wendy, has a sweet spirit. She was always punctual and always answered when I needed her. She greeted my family and I with a warm welcome! She was genuine, honest and very loving to my family! Thank you Mrs. Waldron! We loved our day!

  Read the contract carefully and pray that nothing happens that requires you to cancel!
  
  I originally booked the hitching post for a previous engagement and was very excited about it. Wendy was very helpful with the initial details, finalizing the contract, and working out a payment plan. When the relationship didn't work out, I had to cancel the wedding 8 months out from the wedding day (which is plenty of notice to allow someone else to use the date). Up to that point, I had paid $4,198.92 toward the wedding.
  
  A little over 10 months later, I wanted to have my wedding at this venue (I loved how pretty it is). I was told that, because I had not continued my payments, that I would only receive a 15% discount (amounting $1,154.25) and that I only had 6 months from the cancellation date to reschedule for the full amount I paid to go towards a wedding there. I was also told that what I paid covers the cost of holding that date open and that the 15% discount was "the best deal possible." I understand that it was in the contract (kind of obscurely) but I LITERALLY paid over $4,000 and received no service (essentially what ended up being a donation I suppose). I was very disappointed.
  
  So like I said, I'm sure it's fine when all goes well, but don't pay and have something happen that requires you to cancel it because they do not care or believe in honoring the money you pay in. I'm sure they will respond to my review about it being in the contract but, like I said, just make sure that you are SURE before committing your money to this venue.

  Food was great and everything. I felt the minister was a bit on the rude side. They pulled us in under a tent because it was cold without consulting us. To be honest it's a couple mins and our entire family agreed they would had been fine. The DJ didn't have our song even though I went back and looked and it was the first thing we sent them. I give it 4 stars bc it was still a nice venue with some great scenery and also the food was really good. I still recommend this place as a wedding venue.
  
  Edit: I agree it was cold. However, I don't remember rain as I had worked outside the day before I don't believe there was rain. At least not in the Mooresville area that is. We just wish we had gotten to do the ceremony as we had planned. We felt a bit obligated to do the ceremony under the tent due to everything already in place. It wasn't made clear to us that it could had been moved. It's neither here or there though because we got some great photos and it was still an enjoyable experience. Which I do thank you guys for and that is why I still recommend you guys.

  I can't say enough great things about the 1812 Hitching Post! We just got married in October and our day was perfect. I know every couple probably thinks their wedding day is perfect but ours was truly the best. Wendy and her staff went above and beyond our expectations. We live about four hours away from the venue and only visited twice before the wedding, so our correspondence was mainly through email. Wendy quickly responded and was attentive; thoroughly answering every question, concern, and thought. We really just gave her a basic idea of what we wanted and she took it and ran. On our wedding day, I was blown away at how beautiful it was. It was amazing to see how our day come to life. And most importantly, Wendy and her staff kept the wedding running on time, they were kind to us and our families, were respectful, and fun. So, so, fun. We even stayed in the cottage attached to the venue for the wedding night. It was a perfect end to our perfect day.
