  It really is a shame that I have to give this gun range such a low rating. This was the only range around the Kiev area that had such a nice outdoor setup, and also had an authentic SVD rifle that someone could rent to shoot. However, they did not inform me prior to my arrival that the SVD rifle was so worn out that it was basically worthless to shoot. The barrel was so worn out that neither I nor the range officer could hit a large target at 50 meters with the 4x PSO-1 optic. Why would this company advertise the SVD if it cannot even fire remotely straight? Either get a new barrel for it, or put it on the wall as a decorative piece.
  
  I drove quite far to get there, so I wasn’t just going to leave on that note. I decided to rent their kalashnikov in the 7.62 caliber as a substitute. They told me that the AK cartridges cost the same as the SVD cartridges. How can AK rounds cost the equivalent of $1.50 in the region of the world where AKs were literally born? In USA a box of 20 rounds of 7.62 x 39mm rounds runs about $9.60 at your local gun range.
  
  The only reason why I’m even giving this two stars, and I mean the ONLY reason is because the nice range officer fulfilled my request to take a photo of me with the SVD rifle. They’re rare in the USA for rent at a gun range, which is why I seized the opportunity while I was touring other sights in Kiev.
  
  If you’re a tourist that wants to fulfill their dreams of shooting some fun, functional weapons on the cheap, go to the USA because I spent $65 to basically shoot thirty-four 7.62 x 39mm cartridges and six 7.62 x 54R cartridges through a couple worn out firearms.

  Excellent staff, awesome guns and decent rates. They weren't English speaking but it's easy to work out what to do and communicate with gestures. It's our fault for not speaking Ukrainian or Russian!
