TTARO is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) established in Tanzania with the aim of empowering the community to be well informed, involved and updated on taxes policy issues while bridging the knowledge gap between tax law theories and practices. TTARO strengthen the Tanzania communities from grassroots level to national level to understand the importance of tax collection and the impact of such revenue to socio economic development of the country.We conduct capacity building trainings to SMEs to enable them to conduct business smoothly while adhering to tax laws and obligation; we also enhance and strengthen effective engagement between the taxpayer's community and the government through dialogue on tax issues. We promote equitable tax system and identify avenues to influence tax reforms through research programs. We also support and oversee Tax clubs and Associations in academic institution to ensure the future taxpayers have a well understanding about taxation issues in Tanzania.We also raise the awareness about taxation through "Arts" we utilize participatory theatre as the tool for development for enhancing good governance; this is because arts penetrate in people mind in a friendly manner. Our ultimate goal is to achieve sustainable development through attaining a tax compliant society with equitable and efficiency tax system in Tanzania.
