中華民國肌萎縮症病友協會成立於85年，為了讓社會大眾及病友家屬對肌肉萎縮症有正確的認識，一群熱心的家長在高醫醫療群的協助下，創立了本會。希望集合病友家屬及社會資源，藉由團體及社會的力量，協助病友及家屬解決醫療及生活上的困難，以及提昇病友的生活品質。並在89年成立北區、中區辦事處，加強對病友的服務。
