Small village but the atmosphere is quite relaxing. Not too many cats as I expected. Probably 20 cats.

Went on weekday and noticed some cats were locked in the cage or house. Hence, did not meet my expectations of 'surrounding by cats'. The summer heat makes it not so pleasant to walk around this village. The whole village transformed into cat village for tourism purpose. For city folks who love cats, you might enjoy it more than others.

I loved the cat village! It was so charming and the cats are quite friendly! You should definitely check it out!

A calming and peaceful feelings are what you will get as you stroll around this little village. Not many to see, except, obviously cats. I’m not a cat person so I won’t be revisit this place. Plus there aren’t as many cats as I expected to be called ‘cats village’

Not as many cats as I expected to have. Probably they are all hiding somewhere sleeping. A nice place for scenery & a stroll. Not suitable for strollers/ prams as there are stairs everywhere.

I'm a cat lover and this place is full of cats! There are shops that sell anything cat themed and there are lots of cat cafés to choose from! It's a tiny village but it's very peaceful and lovely! It's just a train away from the Taipei Main Station too. All the people in this village are also nice!!! I'll definitely go back here!

Nice seeing the cats around. Please, DO NOT FEED THEM! When we went it was raining so most of the cats were hiding and sleeping.

Embrace it for what it is. It's a very charming, historic mining town now famous for the cats roaming around the town streets. There is a calming ambiance even with all the people visiting. It must be the cats lazying about. Walk around enjoy some sausages and take a bunch of crazy cat photos

A quaint little town with lots of cats and a nice museum. Worth a visit if you are an animal-lover and enjoy collecting good souvenirs (Better than those in Ruifang/Shifen Town.) Take note that most of the cats are not friendly (possibly because everyone who visits tries to pat them. Do give them their space! :)

I've been here 3 times. I've never really seen that many cats. They have some but not worth the trip if that's all your looking for. But there is good hiking nearby so it's best to pair cat viewing with a hike.
