The Regiment, realizing that if it had to remain relevant and capable of fulfilling the nation’s expectations, recognized that it had to:
Play a more significant role in aid to the civilian power by providing greater support to the Police in law enforcement;
Become more involved in long-term youth development programmes;
Be more vigilant in the protection of our borders by land, sea and air from the inflow of arms and ammunition, drugs and human cargo;
Play a greater role in disaster preparedness and management; and
Become more active in regional security efforts especially in the Southern Caribbean.
