The Moruga Museum has been establish for the preservation, education and promotion of the heritage, history, anthropology, culture and lives of the diverse origins of peoples that constitutes some of the major population of the world, who have impressed upon western civilization . Presenting new finds and research from the historical past of the peoples, that are forever evolving is an ongoing task that we have been entrusted with.
The Museum is not limited to the Moruga Region. The Museum collection continues to be diverse .
For a new institution the museum has been able to make an indelible impact on the lives of the people not just in Moruga, at the same time, in the world.
The Museum has already received Vatican Silver Medal from Pope Francis, making it the first Institution to receive such honor from one of the worlds most profound organisation.
The Museum was opened by Moruga's own Eric Lewis, its Founder and laudably, one of the Youngest Museum founder's the World has ever seen.
To date the Moruga Museum is not yet funded by the Republican State of Trinidad and Tobago.
The Museum continues to carry out its objectives with limited resources serving the needs of researchers, university students and primary and elementary educational institution.
The Moruga Museum has also been one of the Major driving force in the discovery and preservation of Archaeological sites in Trinidad.
