Was looking for a watermelon and my radar sent me to this place .

It's a stash away grocery that has EVERYTHING.....

COOKED local food
Fresh vegetables
and all that the other groceries have and more....

The supermarket has improved a lot since I first moved to the area, however they should implement a 1 to 10 item register for persons coming in to make a quick purchase especially during times when the supermarket is busy, as it took me 20 minutes (yes I was checking) to cash 1 tin of orange juice.

Just imagine tonight I went to the pharmacy and the Indian lady there had a disgusting attitude that I had to walk out. Painting a picture. It had a couple being attended to by the pharmacist. This said lady was dealing with some tablets. Seeing that all I wanted was some information on some masks and sweeties for sore throat I walked up to her, said goodnight and asked her. Not only was she rude enough not to acknowledge my presence. Without fully answering me, she left me standing and went to attend to someone else. I felt incredibly embarrassed and angry. I will no longer shop there for anything at all. That woman should learn customer service and know how to deal with people. Truly disgusting.

Pre packaged fruits a nightmare. Can only know if it's good when opened. Customer service there is terrible. Omeara branch. Cashiers are rather slow, belts are never working & the screens have issues so you can't see the price you are paying for something because there is "always" a mistake. That place can use a bit of cleaning. Photo attached is fruits they are selling that apparently has gone bad.

One of the worst grocery experiences ever. Majority of the produce is rotten. Several items on the shelf are either expired or full of ants. I bought honey from here that was full of ants and a swiss miss that was rock hard. I bought ice cream and cheesecake there that had terrible freezer burnt and tasted terribly off and a jam that was full of MOLD.There is no wifi like major groceries or even a transport service to make up for the several flaws of this grocery. Cigarettes, alcohol and phone cards are not sold here. Is this a grocery or a quick mart?

Food basket has a good selection of products, I love the ability to shop wholesale or retail. Their household products are reasonably priced and then there is the buffet-which I've heard is delectable. There are always specials offered and the market prices are superb, with lots of parking for all of their stores. All in all the ultimate one stop shopping 🛒 experience.

Good prices, but terrible customer service! Nobody is upstairs to assist, despite an "ask for assistance" sign. They expect you to go up and down the escalator to ask for assistance? Ridiculous!
Then when I asked a man downstairs, who is either the Manager or Supervisor, he proceeded to shout at me. Hell no! Learn how to speak to people! Failure Food Basket!

Good specials and a variety of goods, clothes, pharmaceuticals, household items. Shoppers card that gives you extra discounts on final price. Good parking, large space, no long lines, open on public holidays and sundays, convenient.

You can get your groceries, pharmacy, clothing and household items. It is spacious and easy to shop. You may find some imported cheaper brands though.

The cashiers don't own the counter neither the cash register they HAVE A VERY LOW CLASS POMPOUS ATTITUDE LIKE YOU ARE A BEGGER AND THEY ARE THE HIGH CLASS ROYALTY AND WHILE ON TRAINING YOU COULD TRAIN THEM ON HOW TO SMILE AND BE CUSTOMER ORIENTED BECAUSE ALL THE OTHER GROCERIES IN AND AROUND THAT AREA IS AWARE OF YOUR HIGH SOCIETY CASHIERS AND THEIR POOR SERVICE!!!!!!! I like shopping at food basket because they have almost everything that Ida's be looking for so I like it for that and same off the prices is reasonable but the workers need to know how to speak to the customers especially some of the caches so if they could be a bit more pleasant and helpful to the customers but besides that I enjoy shopping there

This was the worst experience shopping in a grocery. On Saturday 8th September 2018, my wife saw a sign for brooms for $19.99 . When she went to cash the cashier scanned and said it was $29.99 . She told her that wasn't the price advertised but paid the amount. Upon leaving the grocery a guy who stated he was security snatched the bill and stated that the actual price of the broom was $ 59.99 and she wasn't allowed to leave the grocery unless she paid the difference. She told him she wasn't going to since the sign stated $19.99 and she paid the scanned price of $29.99 . After his refusing to return her bill and aggressively preventing her from leaving she asked to speak to the Manager. The Manager came and told her the price of the broom was $59.99. She told him the sign said $19.99 and it scanned for $29.99. He stated that they only had one person pricing items and admitted that the grocery was at fault but she was not allowed to leave with the item she paid for unless she paid the difference or got a refund. She told him she already paid for the item and didn't want a refund and to show her where the price showed $59.99. The manager rudely told her he was busy and didn't have time for that . He further told her he was born in France and worked in major retail stores in Trinidad when she expressed dissatisfaction with the treatment she was receiving. After about 20 minutes with the security guard holding her receipt and preventing her departure from the store and the manager unwilling to show her the supposed price of $59.99 she was forced to take a refund. Furthermore they took about 10 minutes to refund her and return the receipt. During that time the Manager who was previously too busy to show the price of the broom was provoking her and being very disrespectful. NEVER SHOP AT FOOD BASKET!!!!

I'm really disappointed with the lighting at the entrance especially and sometimes in the store. You rarely see the prices of the goods on the shelves and if you do its sometimes different when you get to cashier and management could never help you. Also the meats that are packaged are sometimes expired just look at picture for example 😡

They increased the amount of cashiers so check out is faster. The cooked meals on sale are affordable. The place is huge, I took off a star because sometimes the floors smell like they mopped with dirty water.

It's big, really big. Lots of parking. A variety of household items at reasonable cost. Many aisles of groceries. Well stocked shelves.
Unfortunately pricing is atrocious. Mislabeling, no prices, items and prices not matching are a norm. Don't be surprised that you may pay more if you are not vigilant and watch prices as they scan.

The parking lot has no security and unfortunately cars and people are not safe here. I used to do all my shopping here as the prices are reasonable. It isn't worth my life to save a few dollars.

Fantastic shopping experience and competitive prices. Pharmacy, 24Hr Gym, clothes store, home depot and restaurant all the same compound. Always open even on public holidays and nights after other stores close. Many of the issues have been resolved since the innivative Operations Manager came in board in 2015.

Very large supermarket you can find everything you need, you can buy many items in bulk.

All the meat sold here is Halal.
No alcohol or pork sold here, I like this because I don't buy those items anyway.

The music is annoying whilst shopping.

Checking out can be slow because the system here is, one person operating the till and packing all of the shopping.

There's a restaurant and rest room facilities upstairs.

Remember to collect your receipt because this is checked when leaving the supermarket.

Great place to shop, the staff are friendly.

Convenient, mostly one stop shopping. Reasonable prices and good parking. They have the annoying habit of not having prices on some of the items and since there's no one nearby to ask about it, you have to take the items to the cashier, get the price and then they expect YOU to take it back to the shelves. Still, the variety prices and location make Food Basket an attractive shopping option.

Nice place to do your grocery shopping. Food court available from 11:30am. Toilet facility in poor condition, but they have a nice pharmacy, household store, clothing store and an air-conditioned gym. Good parking too.
