  This monument was erected in memory of the Turkish heroes. It has on its sides various depictions of a ship crossing through the bosphorus of Çanakkale, soldiers on the warfront, Mustafa Kemal in meeting with foreign envoys, the cannon machine in preparation to drown an invader ship, etc. The erection of this wonderful architecture was fully bored by the Turkish people, giving up their gold possessions and monies just to this monument came to life in full respect to the fallen heroes and love for martyrdom.

  It is highly recommended to visit the place with a professional guide. (Please read the brief history of the place beforehand) If you plan to visit during summer it can be really sunny and hot. Bring a hat and plenty of water with you. Because this is the place to show respect you must behave accordingly. Lastly the monument was not completed. The existing part is only the foundation in the original plan. There sould be a soldier statue on top of the foundation.

  This can be seen from ship.
  When ship is passing through Canakkale straits.
  Generally used for visual/radar fix by navigators.
  
  I have seen through binoculars only, looks good. Respect.

  Sailing down from Çanakkale (2h) we couldn't but pass by the monument to pay a tribute to those too many soldiers who lost their lives in the banks of the Dardanelles.
