Alay Pavilion, opposite the Porte Sublime, on the left of the gate Soğukçeşme Gülhane Park, located on the towers overlooking the walls of Topkapi Palace Alemdar Street. It is known that there is a wooden pavilion of the same name which was thought to have been built during the time of Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror. The present mansion from the poem inscription written in bronze letters in the window arches of the mansion was higher in 1819 than the former mansion in Sultan II. It is understood that it was built during the reign of Mahmut.

Alay Köşkü was built with the purpose of watching the official parades of the sultans, saluting the soldiers and the people. For this reason, the other name of the mansion is "Selam Köşkü". Before the expedition in the imperial period, the soldiers arranged a parade with their equipment, and the sultan watched them from this square and greeted them. In addition, the sultan also watched the guild regiments of the Citizen's Palace and the merchants of the city. The last of the guild regiments in 1769, Sultan II. It was made in Mustafa time.
