  The police station is ridicolous. I had some problems with thiefs and gang members on istiklal road. I wanted to report this to the police and needed help.
  
  Unfortunatly the police office at this station dont speak english. They treated me very bad and trying to make fun of me Also I should bring a english/turkish translator then they would help me. WTF

  I have no specific experience with this polis station, but I will comment on my impression of Taxsim polis and law enforcement. The police maintain a strong presence at the square. Often there have been three large polis buses parked to the side and plenty of officers on hand in light riot gear. Outside of the square and Istkitikal Avenue, I never in my two months, saw an officer on foot. They scout around in their small sport utility squad cars, but I seldom saw them stop to deal with any sort of incident. They don't seem to enforce the ony-way street direction signs, nor do they seem to be concerned about drunks disturbing the peace (at 4 am). The neighborhood south of Istkitkal are busy 24/7, both pedestrians and omnipresent taxis. Women safely walk alone, below our window at all hours of the day and night.
