Nice atmosphere with many books to read. But the biggest problem is the fact that it is so crowded. You can't find an empty place easily. Most people would bring their laptops and do homework there with no regard for time. It is a cafe shop first of all and people should understand that there are others waiting to sit.

We weren't happy with a very neglectful staff. They also forgot half of our order but included it in the bill anyways. Thankfully, it didn't take bagging to remove it. If you're a tourist with no local number or residence permit number, you can't get a wifi here. Otherwise, cozy environment to seat and chill in. My friend who ordered a coffee and actually got it, liked it.

Great place for a bookworm :) very homey/library environment with nice desserts 🍨, coffees ☕️ and teas 🍵 but it might be hard to find a seat and also a bit pricey (2 - mocha latte and 1 slice of cake = 33TL) although expected since it’s right on Istiklal 😅

I give 4 stars for the ambience, but actually cortado coffee I ordered as just warm. Right by the Istiklal Street, great place to have your coffee and watch people passing by. If like books, this place will make you even happier 😊 The “german” desert I ordered , was not as delicious as it looked.

Pretty cozy location where you can easily spend hours working. Offerings are pretty good; especially the desserts. Though if you don't wish to wait to order, you might need to find someone to place an order. That's not a bad thing, go socialize!

The worst wifi connection ever and the management never bothered fix it since they opened this business. Apparently the space is designed as a working space for students, freelancers, shared tables etc but when it comes to internet you never manage to be connected. This is 2017, just hire a decent IT guy and have it fixed, you don't have right to steal from people's limited time. Then you can focus on your bad coffee and terrible herbal teas.

Great book shop and café. Pretty onfortable when you want to work a little bit in a cozy environment. Just a little too crowded and the available internet connection is sooooo slow.

If you wanna go somewhere posh and chill, that is the right place. Workers look cool, place look cool, etc. However, if you look for profound quality, go somewhere else. I happened to experience once that the cashier was furious with a waiter, and she was crying out loud. I was trying to work with a coworker there on a nearby table, and we were extremely disturbed by the attitude of that cashier. Also, waiters are somehow too comfortable while working. Not really my cup of tea. If you want some respect and a quite place, go somewhere else. AND, for a big place, there is just one toilet. Be prepared to wait.

I decided to visit after reading a number of users' feedback and my need to sit at a quite coffee shop to read and have a decent cup of coffew. Let me verify and falsify some:

✔✔ The place is cozy and is great to come with a friend to study/do work. The filter coffee is as great as the desert. Go for the cherry tart is its available. It's heavenly.

❌❌ If you are looking for a place to read I wouldn't recommend it, not only because it's crowded but also because the music tends to get loud. It is hard to find a table to sit by yourself. I was put on a table with 5 other people who were talking while studying/ doing homework. True that the number it waiters is not enough for a two-story place. The service was somehow slow.

It has a fabulous environment which you can enjoy either food and books. The tables and chairs are comfy, the guests are educated and sophisticated. The number of waiters are not enough but they are trying to do their best for a good service.

Stumbled upon this cafe while on Istiklal Cd and coincidentally needed a coffee. Cafe has a nice ambience but I was only there for a take-out. Coffee was done swiftly and they have these cute cups for Xmas. More importantly, the coffee is good.

After a few days full of Istanbul experience, I came here and wasn't disappointed. I enjoyed to read some newspaper from my home and having a coffee. It is also surprisingly quiet inside.
4/5 cause The "German" was neither good nor authentic.

And be aware that the staff is unlikely to speak German or good English
