  This is a "must see" location in Edirne. Constructed by well known Ottoman architect "Mimar Sinan" for Selim the Second. Sinan finished construction when he was 90 and called this mosque as "My mastership work".

  Most amazingly beautiful mosque. From the moment I saw it from distance I felt very excited and as I got closer and entered my heart was trembling and I was lost for words. One can feel and breathe history here.

  The Master has spoken.
  
  If Sinan himself said it is his masterpiece, who can question that?
  
  I found myself "forgetting to breath" after stepping in. This is literally the definition of "breathtaking."
  
  Give yourself some good time to appreciate the details. Try to time your visit outside of the prayer times to minimize crowds. Sit in one of the two further corners and look at the symmetrical architecture. It is one unique monument.

  One of the best example of Classical Ottoman Architecture, Selimiye Mosque is situated at the heart of the city. To make your visit unique, make sure you don't schedule your visit on weekends.
