This mosque is one of the few uniquely designed mosques in Istanbul, which don't conform to the "Mimarsinan" school of mosque architecture. Although it is small compared to other mosques, it more than makes up for it in design and splendor. A must see in Istanbul.

One of the iconic landmarks of Istanbul. 19th century elegance at its best!
Ortakoy Mosque built in 1721, it was ruined during the Patrona Halil Uprising. The current mosque, which was erected in its place, was ordered by the Ottoman sultan Abdülmecid and built in 1856. It’s design by the same architect who also designed the nearby Dolmabahçe Palace.response / report this review -

Nice place the sunset is amazing.
Don't miss the potatos there.
Very romantic place, couples go there to enjoy the pace takes some photos.

This mosque in Ortakoy is right on the Bosphorous and is a light spectacle in the evening. The area around the Mosque has many bars and restaurants and some clubs as well. If you are interested in a night out on the town then Ortakoy is the place to enjoy it. There are curio shops and kids selling crafts outside the restaurants. There are lots of interesting things to see. Ask the locals for the best places to eat at and you will get directed to the restaurants with the best Turkish food.
If you are travelling here from Sultanhamet then you can take the tram to the last station which is Kabatas and then take a taxi or bus to Ortakoy. If you don't mind the walk, it is about 45 minutes walk to Ortakoy from kabatas.response / report this review -

If you want the best photo for your Istanbul trip this is the place for you. Bosphorus bridge, amazing mosque 🕌 and blue sea 🌊.
Don’t get fooled by the expensive restaurants and cafes there. Just take a short walk outside the area and you will find amazing places with cheaper food and drinks 🍹.

Its a nice place if you want to spend a time near sea you can find so many kumpir place waffles Starbucks and can have one hour ride through the bridge in ferry

This place is near to the sea, which has cafe, restaurant available to have something. Views from this place is really breathtaking. You should visit at least once during the visit of Istanbul.

We went early morning at 8 am and had our Turkish coffee there on the benches by the water.
The mosque+bridge+water =Great View. Don't miss the experience.
I loved the serenity and the place in the ealy hours of the day. Very few tourist and Not crowded yet.
Few souvenirs stands started to open up by 10am. Many restaurants and Cafes in the area.
We walked from our hotel for 30 minutes but took a cab back.response / report this review -

The cam had been under construction for the last two years but well worth it. It not your typical came on the inside - its quite posh. Ortaköy is a place to come and visit for a few reasons, but don't miss stepping inside this mosque.

A little mosque surrounded by the sea in Ortakoy. In spite of being small, I think that visiting it is totally worth, also because the quarter itself is very nice, full of small shops, cafes and restaurants where you can taste the typical kumpir (turkish potato with salads) or waffles. The interior is finely decorated and really bright thanks to the light entering from the windows, from which you have a nice view on the sea.
