  This is the resting place of the comrades of Seyit Onbaşı, one of the Turkish heroes of the Çanakkale War. They lost their lives as a result of a bombardment from the invading warship trying to cross through the Bosphorus. The cannon bullet lifter also got damaged. Seyit Onbaşı and one other colleagues temporarily fainted under the sand. The heroism and bravery shown by Seyit Onbaşı in single-handedly lifting up such a heavy mass and fixing it into the cannon shooter dealt a major blow to the ships and the invaders had no option but to etreat. Thus Gallipolli was never crossed.
