Land scape was amazing. You can find lot of souvenirs. There is parking place and wc also. There is camel and horse ride. You should bring nice sneakers for not slipping from edges.

The Pigeon valley is a beautiful place for a walk. The path is well maintained and easily accessible for most of the distance between Uçishar and Göreme. Some parts of the walk are a bit steep and require some scrambling. We walked off the path for parts of it and some of the areas are quite difficult to walk across. Would recommend sticking to the paths!

It's a unique place in the world. Everybody should visit. Mey relatives own a small land in it. I can say that there are hidden beauties you can also see outside the touristic area.

The park is great, not sure why other photos that do not correspond are posted (like hotels, or souvenirs shops), but the views are breathtaking!! Enjoy

Beautiful place, absolutely stunning and unique views, looks like a fairytale. Not sure how anyone can give it less than 5*. Make sure you see some good panoramas from the nearby town Uchisar or an air balloon. A random walk in the valleys or on top of them (!) is nice. Wouldn't say that these are particularly difficult hikes but wear good shoes!

A good sight for understanding the context of the many churches in the area. Make sure you check the lower Blue Church. It is included in the price but often overlooked. The nicest site as it is being restored.

One of the most beautiful Natural Parks I have experienced in Turkey. Definitely worth a visit. The whole are is breathtaking and there are lots of different areas to see so its hard to get bored out here. Plenty to keep you busy for 3-4 days.

Take the hikes into the valleys -- they are as stunning and more powerful than the crowded museum :) You can find good trail maps and descriptions by Googling online.

UNESCO world heritage and a must place to visit. mesmerizing landscape formed naturally by erupting volcanoes. human inhabited few centuries back and was a piece of art.

Disclaimer: I had an earlier review with lots of 'likes' but for some reason that review has disappeared. So i decided to write again. My review is different that what most people wrote here.
Verdict: This place is wonderful, and there are not many similar places in the world. Everyone should see and experience it. But if necessary precautions are not taken, possibly in 20-30 years, it will lose its beauty because of human destruction and mismanagement.
It is a major disappointment how this entire park is managed and preserved. Let me begin..
- when you pay at the entrance gates, you should not be paying for anything else, especially for parking.
- Entire place is dirty. yes, there are garbage everywhere you go. water bottles, and all sorts of other garbage lying around. I have seen western tourists picking up garbage from ground. church walls have 'pee' stains and it stinks everywhere.
- there are no strict rules of what you can do, where you can go, and what you should not. People go and hike as they wish, quad mobiles wander as they please, and cars park where ever they can.
- People carve their names on the walls. These creations are volcanic ash, so the walls are very soft and fragile. Precious history is lost or damaged. Are there any fines? There may be, but is it forced? I doubt it. Anyone cares? I doubt it again.
- No proper markings of what is where. Just some signs and no real guidance - unless you hire a local guy to show you around.
Summary: Turkish Cultural Ministry should do a much better job to preserve this national treasure. Sustainability is vital for coming generations (our kids and grand-kids) to enjoy such places as much as we do.response / report this review -

First time being in an 'open air museum' and it was fun walking around the place. Aside from its super interesting history, this museum 'park' also have beautiful scenery and plenty of place where you can just chill and take dozens of photos.

The Hittites we're an ancient Anatolian people who inhabited this area (one of many). Going into this park lets you actually see into the past, specifically how they lived inside of caves during the winter. You will also see the evolution of the area with the entrance of Christianity into the area evidenced by the paintings inside what were cave churches. Today this is accurately described as an open-air Museum. You have the ability to take a self-guided tour and you won't regret it.
