A very interesting place to visit.I couldn't stay there for a long time because it is very narrow and a bit claustrophobic. It does say in the entrance that it's risky for people with asthma .

Fantastic place to explore. We went there when it was quieter (a rainy Thursday afternoon) and we had certain levels completely to ourselves. It is very cramped and enclosed in places so definitely not one for the claustrophobic but it is fascinating and really well set up. It is astonishing to imagine the communities living underground in these cities.

Very interesting but too many tourist groups inside and the place is quite tight, especially when climbing back up to the surface. A bit steep climb on the way back. I was with a two year old kid - was a bit tough!

Kaymaklı was better IMO. No printed information available, so try to get a guide. Ask if they have official guides (I am not sure, I paid some random dude 15 euros and the tour was not that great). Go early when there are not too many people. Might want to wear adventurous clothes, gloves. Definitely sneakers. If you have a head torch, you can find caverns not open for public.

This is unbelievable, a 100% man made underground city created thousand years ago, it has 7 levels, plenty of rooms for different purposes including storage, animal shelters. There are stone doors, air well for ventilation as well. About 800 people used to stay inside this underground city, which is amazing. You wont feel too much pressure inside compare with Vietnam war tunnel because this underground city is quite spacious, there is no problem standing straight inside the cave, you can even jump inside. Must visit!

A natural & man made underground ancient city. Only a part of it is open to the public. 25TL is the entrance ticket. Mini bus take 25 minutes from Nevsehir.

Just about rates a 5. Fascinating place to explore and as part of the museum pass not at all expensive. Whilst some of the corridors are low it's not difficult to get around as long as you can bend over. Amazing to think people lived down there with their animals for months at a time.Takes about an hour to see. Maybe get the guide book or a guided tour as no information inside.

A completely different experience. Explored 4 floors of the underground city. There are a total of 8 floors(4 unexplored). The air was super fresh and it was cool inside even though it was a hot day. The guide said that its completely opposite i.e. it gets hot when it is cold outside.

Nice place. Especially the kids enjoyed exploring the rooms inside. It does require some physical fitness to climb down and back, in crouched position. Tickets are 25TL per adult, children

It's incredible what people need to do in order to survive. My guided tour was interesting and informative, but as a group we didn't get to run around everywhere. (I'm more of an active, check everything out, kind of person) You can go on your own, and if you'll be there awhile, a long sleeve shirt is recommended.

This is such a wonderful historic place. But unfortunately, even though you pay for entrance, there is not enough information about the place itself. This place needs a guide that will walk you in those crawling hallways and explain you what is exactly what. I have been to many similar caves in abroad, and I love caving and exploring, but in the underground city, I did not feel secure and informed. I don't think I would go there again. Sad but true.

A massive underground city! Astonishing that it at one point housed 35,000 all underground! That being said you'll only see a portion of the underground city which is okay -- once you've seen one, the rest start to feel very similar. If you visit during the hot summer months I would suggest arranging your visit here during the middle of the day so you can get out of the sun and into the cool underground city while it bakes outside.

Note that they charge for parking, which I find ridiculous since you already have to pay for an entry ticket to the underground city. Plus you're forced to walk by vendors trying to sell junk tourist souvenirs.

This is one of the 7 places covered by the Cappadocia Museum Card that gets you into all the places for just 45 Lira. It's worth the value if you just visit 2 places, and it's good for 72 hours.

Note: There are two locations for this place on Google Maps. The correct location is the more northern point on the map. It's hard to miss since it's right off the main road. Look for the brown signs in the middle divider.
