  Ataturk Olympic Stadium, in Turkish Atatürk Olimpiyat Stadi, is the largest stadium of Turkey. It takes its name from Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of the Republic of Turkey, and is the home stadium of football club Istanbul BBSK.
  
  Construction of Ataturk Olympic Stadium began in 1999. The stadium was built to serve as the centrepiece of the 2008 Olympic Games.

  It's a huge, modern stadium 🏟 but getting in and out is a nightmare especially if you plan using public transportation. I was there for the U2 concert in 2009 - got back downtown around 5 AM after switching two buses and a taxi.
